What scene is this quite from?
@Sigmar_Heldenhammer5 жыл бұрын
Ipro Fox None, that is the riddle of steel, that is what doom could never find. Steel will soon rust and a blade used often in battle will dent. The flesh grows weaker with age and soon dies with it. Yet it is the will to live, overcome, and prevail that drives man to ultimate victory. mind you that this whole movie is essentially trying to find the answer to the riddle of steel, that’s why thusla’s riders attacked Conan’s village they were trying to find the answer. If one translates the words in this song they say they seek savage blades, inferring they believe the answer to be steel. Same as Conan’s father in the beginning when telling Conan not to trust man or beast. He then holds up the sword and says “this you can trust”. Thusly later before sending Conan to the tree of woe would show Conan that he thought the answer was flesh saying some thing like “what is the sword to the hand that wields it?” Yet though out this movie we see that it is Conan’s will to avenge his father ( and later that women ) that continues to drive him forward and in the end, against all odds, succeed. Holy shit I should turn this in to my English teacher.

Fire and wind come from the sky, from the gods of the sky. But Crom is your God, Crom and he lives in the earth. Once, giants lived in the earth, Conan. And in the darkness of chaos, they fooled Crom, and they took from him the enigma of steel. Crom was angered... And the Earth shook! Fire and wind struck down these giants, and they threw their bodies into the waters, but in their rage, the Gods forgot the secret of steel and left it on the battlefield. We who found it are just men... Not Gods. Not giants. Just men. The secret of steel has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Conan. You must learn its discipline. Hands down, the greatest movie soundtrack in movie history. Of course comments like that are subjective, but this music for some is beyond a masterpiece, it moves you in a way that feels ethereal and it’s not a hyperbole. This soundtrack is something that was composed in some kind of surreal magical realm of existence. As a kid growing up in the 80s and this movie being a top 5 ever, I remember buying the soundtrack tape at a popular music store with friends and I was so incredibly overjoyed while my friends made fun of me. And all I could think was how in the dark they were, but there was something so wonderful they would eventually discover for themselves as they evolved. This piece of music has only gotten better with time, sometimes I let it go a while before listening to it when I get the kick and it’s like some kind of extacy drug. It really is. This music is like a drug. I can’t even explain how powerful it is.

Fire and wind come from the sky, from the gods of the sky, but Crom is your god. Crom, and he lives in the earth. Once giants lived in the earth, Conan, and in the darkness of chaos they fooled Crom, and they took from him the enigma of steel. Crom was angered, and the earth shook, and fire and wind struck down these giants, and they threw their bodies into the waters. But in their rage, the gods forgot the secret of steel, and left it on the battlefield. We, who found it, we are just men: not gods, not giants, just men. And the secret of steel has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Conan, you must learn its discipline !!! For no one, no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts... This you can trust !!!

There will never be another film that comes this close to capturing the true essence of the Conan legend. Wish they could have made a trilogy with the same level of intensity as the original. This entire soundtrack is just epic.

A riddle of steel: "who told the blacksmith to form a blade ?" (i.e. what gave him the idea ? Not like a bolt of lighting striking a tree, inspiring the "Quest for Fire." Someone wanted a blade. but who ? ). Great track by the legendary Basil Poledouris. Thank you for sharing. thumbs up .

I can't believe it. All this time I have been searching for the track that played in the E3 trailer of the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D... And here it is... *Sheds manly tears.* ... Now I must work out to this music along Gonna Fly Now.

Thank you for not siding with Edenstr, friend. For his information; back in High School, many of the jerks almost pushed me into a fight against my will. Two example are when someone caught me in a headlock and nearly suffocated me and when one of those jerks nearly pushed me in front of a moving bus. So to Edenstr, I say that I know full well what it's like to be in a scrap. So slag off

Incredible soundtrack. Arnold isn't much of an actor, but he has had some really badass roles. I love the brass horns being so flashy, feels like swords flashing in the hot sun and blood spilling. The percussion sounds so ancient. The strings sound like Valkyrie dancing on clouds, reminding him of hope. And the Chorus (best part imo) sounds like Conan's ancestors making songs glorifying his triumph of will, his volition, they seem pleased in how much he is fighting against the world. Awesome arrangement!!!
