MJ was only bad at 3pt% at 13% but MJ was elite from everywhere else including midrange, free throws, scoring, defence and shot blocking as a guard and steals as a guard. MJ averaged almost 6 rebounds and 5.5 assists playing in the triangle offence where everyone shared the ball. When factoring in era, defence wasn’t the same as now back then. MJ literallt got beat up by Detroit pistons in that 3 year playoff stretch and still averaged over 30+ ppg and elite defence. MJ 1998 season was better if you look past offence triple doubles. MJ had more ppg, spg, bpg, ft% and better two way player. Jokic led in apg and rpg and 3pt% and TS%. MJ 1988 season is better due to the defensive aspect not just the offence.

Joker is a cerebral player. He does everything so subtle, but if you watch carefully, he is a master of body deception. He uses his body, shoulders, arms, hands so well. Just a small bump will create enough space, or a light push will on the offensive player will hinder his follow through. Joker is all brains and deceptive use of his strength and body to create space or defend or create chaos for the opposition player. He doesn't push hard, he just does a quick nudge. Other than the “the best player on the best team argument,” which I would get on some level, what other rational argument could you make for SGA over Jokic? If you took Devin Booker, Curry, Dame, Maxey, Fox, (and a few others) and replaced SGA the Thunder would still play at a similar level. Name me one player you just swap Jokic out with and they would be the same or similar. Without Jokic the whole Nuggets team, as constructed, would be a lottery team. The Thunder would be playing for at least the play in, if not the 6-7 seed without SGA. There just isn’t an argument for who the MVP is
