You know what's so amazing and engaging with this two? It's the fact that they are just there enjoying the food like its a normal day no fuss, no exaggeration, no drama. They just so natural and show their love and appreciation for the food they are eating. This really made me more interested and at the same time enjoying the way they eat. It's like more Filipino. Glad you guys enjoyed the food, and really hope you can eat some authentic Filipino food in the future. ☺️ I’d personally recommend chicken inasal which is marinated grilled chicken, usually served with rice, a side of toyomansi (soy sauce and calamansi) and atchara (pickled side dish made of unripe papaya). Everything pairs so well together. You guys need to try this one!!

That’s the same problem we hear from a lot of viewers, many of them lack jollibees around where they live 😭 The pain is real, hopefully there are other fried chicken chains nearby that can substitute it and help with the cravings. If you haven’t tried Peruvian food please do so. They have some dishes that are to die for. Peruvian food is Asian and Latin fusion. My favorite is lomo salteado. They also make a mean roast chicken. A pesto Lomein dish which is called tallarín, sooo good. They have a few seafood dishes as well and you must try jalea which is a fried seafood tower which usually consists of calamari, boneless fish chunks, shrimp and fried yucca. It usually is adorned with thinly sliced red onions and herbs and a green sauce for dipping. And of course their arroz chaufa which is their version of fried rice which usually would give you a choice of protein like chicken, beef, or seafood.

No we haven’t tried it yet but wow the foods you mentioned are looking 🔥!!! Is the Lomo Salteado generally served with both rice and French fries or do you choose only one? I think all the ones you mentioned would be 10/10 😂🤤😩 fried seafood, sirloin, stir fried noodles and fried rice, gotta love em all😋

It is served with rice, French fries, tomatoes, and red onions with a sauce that it is cooked in. It’s tangy and amazing. Make sure you put some of their signature green sauce, it is delicious. The flavor is herbaceous, sour, and has a lil kick to it. Sooo good. Lomo salteado protein is either beef or chicken. Beef is my favorite. It is very flavorful and tender!

I know you mentioned that you also like foods that are saucy or stewed based. I am Dominican descent. We have a few dishes that are sauce based like some of the other Caribbean islands. For example, our oxtails are cooked and stewed in a brown sauce until tender. The base of our cooking is a sofrito. It’s our version of the holy trinity which is celery, carrots, onions. We use green or red peppers, onions, and garlic. When making our sauce based dishes we first brown or meats in oil that has sugar added to it. You let the sugar lightly brown a little and then cook the meat in it. It does not make it taste sweet believe it or not. The smell is intoxicating and browns the meat well and seals in the juices and flavor. We also have a rice stew called Asopao. We usually make it of chicken, hen, or shrimp. Add a little lime or lemon when serving or hot sauce. Mad good!! Our most famous stew is called sancocho. It is a thick version of soup. We make it with plantains, yucca, some people also add potatoes and protein. Chicken, hen and even beef short ribs or oxtails. Eat it with a side of avocado from and some rice. Your golden. I will leave you guys with these suggestions and if you finally get it try them and you enjoy them I would love to keep sending you suggestions. Like you both I love to try food from different cultures. I know you mentioned Indian food, and man it’s good. Please try chicken Tikka masala. You will not regret it!

Traditionally, a palabok sauce is made with shrimp stock, some pork broth, ground pork, tinapa flakes (or smoked fish flakes) and brightly hued from annatto (ahuete/atsuete) seeds. Much like a ragu, but without the tomatoes, the sauce has a base of onions or shallot and garlic. the yellow sauce in the Aloha Burger is honey mustard sauce.

Sinigang is versitle. Pork, chicken, beef or seafood can be used to make it. The soup stock is made from tamarind or green mango, or kamias. That's why it has a sour taste to it. It is best enjoyed with bagoong as well. Use very little, it ggoooeeessss a long wwaayyy lol rice is a must too so make sure you have enough rice to enjoy it

Haha yeah. We love our rice since it's something that every social class in the Philippines can afford to keep "full" /fed. Usually the rice to viand ratio is more rice to viand, since the cost of cooking the viands is way more than rice. Plus, like i said, since we have extremes in terms of flavors, the rice helps cut the richness of our viands. It's a cheaper way to get full too, since most people here live paycheck to paycheck.
