So Paul was dead all along and at the last part when she and Paul were sitting on a bench, that is Paul's spirit ( its time to forget the past). All the part of Paul were four years ago. Its what I understand about the story.

CORRECT! Ann was still holding on to memories of Paul that it is difficult for her to easily accept Jay into her life. You got to hand it to Ann for holding on, four years is no joke. However, the trophy goes to Jay for being patient with her and never giving up to snatch her from the emotional pit she was in. His perseverance and patience finally made Ann see that there are other possibilities after her sudden loss. It's very hard to be in a triangle most especially if one side of that triangle is now only a memory.

I wouldn't say it's Paul's spirit. It's more of a representation of Paul's part in her life - the memories and the love Paul has for her. We know Paul came first and his memories still linger. It was time for her to let go and build new happy memories with Jay, and eventually them being destined for each other.

Now this is a true story it happened to me long ago. Junior High, we were 3 very close friends. Myself and a male and female friends. I am young and weak who values friendship more than anything else. My male friend developed love towards our female friend. Her name is Anna BTW, and he decided to court Anna. I have an emotion towards her as well, And I can feel that Anna like me more than friend.But I held back my emotion for my friend. My male friend really loves Anna, actually it took him for years for the Anna to say yes. after all the rejections. Time passed by. They decided to get married. I was there of course. My love towards Anna stayed after all those years. When our eyes met. I can feel her emotion just like she is saying, "Why I gave her to my friend and please take me away with you". Damn, The emotion is too heavy for me to handle. I decided to make some excuse to escape from the reality that my love is gone. We never see each other again. I almost forgot that. 3 years ago I received a call from that male friend of mine. 20 years after that dreaded wedding. He said Anna passed away and her last word is my name. the stupidity and weakness of my youth still hunts me to this very moment. My male friend apologized saying that he knew from the very beginning that I am the one in Anna's heart and he also knew that I love Anna as well. But what can he do he said. He can't live without Anna. Damn, Love is beautiful but cruel as well. Sorry for posting this Michele I don't have anyone to tell.
