So far, this is my favorite BTS of Mary poppins. It shows the direct correlation between the shots and the complete effect of what is portrayed. It also brings me back to when I was 6 years old, listening to the soundtrack every morning before my parents got up. To this day, this music and these lyrics bring back a wonderful sensation of fantasy and security.

What a gorgeous on screen couple. I always wanted them to do more films together. Julie Andrews never looked more beautiful than she does in this movie. Mary Poppins will always be one of my favourite films/story of all time. ❤

They almost did in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but I think Julie didn't want to get typecasted. Dick van Dye agreed on the condition he be allowed to speak in his regular American accent and not another British (probably some form of cockney) one. Sally ann Howes replaced Andrews as Eliza Doolittle on Broadway, so she definitely was the best option even if we didn't have Andrews in it.

The dance move had just gone wrong in that take (it looked as if the 'fly' wire had pulled Julie off-balance). Retake time. All in a day's filming. Julie was playfully reacting to Dick's comment probably.
