It reminds me- when I was in medical school, one of my high school friends came by, he was now in Seminary school. We had these conversations about medicine, free-will and I felt like I was talking to a knowledgeable friend, not a priest. It was the only conversation like that we had before we both moved from that city. I should have kept in touch.

Id have to agree. Being raised with Native American ideologies and part NA, you hear the horror stories of religious persecution and what my ancestors went through. My mom didn't raise me to be religious but she did raise me to have very similar messages that Rev Chris talks about. On a fundamental level. The way the Rev Chris teaches and talks about the message and not so much about how God wants you to do this and this and this but more about the place of you and how God can help guide you is rather interesting. Idk. I dont usually go seeking to hear about God but when I see Rev Chris is in a video, I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoy listening to what he has to teach.

Knowing Jesus is the best thing ever. I felt joy in my heart and spirit whenever Rev Chris explains the things of God. My family went through separation when I was a teenager, and I had to spend most time alone at home because my mom had to travel far for work. I didn't know God back then. I carried the suffering with me into my adulthood. The entire time God was knocking but for me He was just another religion like any other. I received Christ only 10 years after God's first knocking. I never understand why God is so good and was so patient with me. Recently I realized God is faithful to fulfill His promises. One of them being, 'I will be a Father to the fatherless and a protector of the widows'. I just love the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Seek the Lord while He may be found.

I want to thank Josh, Ollie, and Rev Chris for making these videos. I'm a queer person that grew up in a Baptist family and comunity in the American midwest. Holding onto my faith through oppression from religious community members and family is something that's been very hard for me, to the point where some days I can't even read my bible without breaking into tears. But there's something so spiritually healing about watching these videos. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

I feel like Rev Chris has so much wisdom and so many graceful answers, but the questions that Ollie poses help to hone that even further for those of us who have grown up Christian or thought a lot about it and have these questions lingering in our minds. I'm so thankful Ollie keeps voicing his deep thoughts and questions and that Rev Chris always stands firm. It really gives me hope that I can come back to faith someday and it will be real and full of peace and grace like Rev Chris seems to show, but I will know that it's not just a big scale abusive relationship. Keep up the good work, both of you! ❤️

RANDOM STORY: At my school, we had just finished Mass and our teacher wanted us to write down how we felt about it and any questions we had on a school app, I had just finished how I felt and went to another section to see what the questions were like, I started laughing because some of the questions were, “who was the man who led the Mass?”, “why is there a long pause before we begin singing the hymns?”, “is it a sin to leave church early?”, it was crazy. I wish I could become a JOLLY member 😤😡😭

Last video known of this dear Rev Chris. I wish you could do another video based on... I don't know, but I love to see his reactions and the answers to the 'hard' questions without loosing his cool. Actually I would say the 'Rev Chris vids' are quite educative as he opens a door to understanding some messages considered somehow cryptic. Thanks. It's been a while I hope he's well.

Rev Chris is the type of person to have a good conversation with. There are many people who believe in other religions that think the same and I adore these kind of people. Those who are always positive and able to be open minded and and allow conversation over the fact that we are humans.

Ollie really nailed it in the Stockholm Syndrome thing. It’s true that’s the way people approach God, and it’s terribly sad. Basically we see Him as one big narcissistic in the sky that’s judges us and cannot wait to punish us. In truth: God doesn’t just love you, he LIKES you. You think being Christian is stripping yourself of everything that makes you, you? Wrong! He likes your personality and He likes you and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Don’t believe the religious people who say we are worthless or scum of the earth, that’s stupid. God wants to be so close to us, he sent Jesus and now He isn’t just AROUND us, but IN us (John 14:20). Christianity has nothing to do with rules or self hate, that’s what the religious people have turned it into. Do you know the people Jesus was distressed at were the RELIGIOUS people who “followed” the Bible? They followed all the rules, so why was Jesus angry? (Called the Pharisees) because following rules has nothing to do with God, it’s a line that we as humans draw around us and it’s disgusting to see how it’s wrecking peoples lives. The view we have of Christianity today is so sad. Just remember: True Christianity is a relationship. Religion is a practice. Not the same.

I feel the way prayer works is less often as in you get what you prayed for and more so in the sense of it gives people, hope, courage, patience, solace and strength to hold on, or work harder or to deal with whatever they were praying for. An observation from a fellow agnostic.

I think Divya has a good point. And also I think it's good to sit down and reflect on your emotions and wants. Like you can journal or something, but prayer is probably easier in ways where you feel like you are talking to someone. I also think it probably gives hope and helps people focus on the future and their dreams and wants. Like with meditation or journaling, you will feel more connected with yourself and more at peace when you pray.
