Ali Guyam Ali Joyam
I call Ali, I seek Ali
Dr. Karim Gillani and Kashif Din present a soul-stirring rendition of the popular Persian qasida “Ali Guyam Ali Joyam”. This is an ancient composition; the current popular version was written by Darvish Amir Hayati (1921-2006).
Qasida is a living tradition from Central Asia including Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Northern areas of Pakistan, but is currently appreciated by the Jamat everywhere in the world.
Dr. Karim Gillani from Alberta, Canada and Kashif Din from Hunza, Pakistan through their sincere love and devotion towards the qasida tradition make a serious effort in this video to make a connection with the Jamat in every corner of this world.
Ismailis are one large family under the light of Mawla Ali led in the present time by our Imam-e-Zaman. In the spirit of the living and dynamic qasida tradition, the video contains very touching footage of the local Jamat from Hunza including school children, seniors, working men and women singing the devotional song as they carry on with their daily activities.
Please participate, share and sing along this soulful qasida to mark the joyous 85th Birthday celebration of our Beloved Imam-e-Zaman.
