This course actually looks awesome! Heard people saying its not top level.....yeah it takes raw power away as an advantage but it rewards good fundamentals and is really polished (trimmed grass around everything even fences and nice borders from mowed to tall grass).

It seems to be matched to the skills of the field better than a lot of the DGPT events; almost all of these holes were reachable for the field but required a good shot and resulted in some scoring separation. Coverage was a lot more fun to watch as a result. Tired of seeing DGPT holes that have the same tee/basket location as MPO that everyone in FPO just pars because FPO was an afterthought in the design.

I think there should be more courses like this. Over the last few years disc golf has went more towards longer open courses instead of technical stuff. I get its harder to film but i think courses like this show how rounded a persons game actually is. Smaller technical courses should be a staple in disc golf again.

You see how people prefer courses that give them an advantage. A good course doesn't give it all away to one advantaged player. That is why we need to elect people who want to create a level playing field...

How does the PDGA not install new/modern baskets for the USWDGC? The chains are clearly an issue, and those are obviously very old baskets

Hopefully going forward we just see the DGPT standardized baskets that are coming next year in all the majors too. Hate seeing the FPO field dealing with these bad baskets each year in the USWDGC. At least this year the course is well maintained and interesting

Yeah, they're strange. It seems like they're a DGA Mach 5 chain build, but the basket itself is a mach 2 basket. A big read why the mach 5 basket is deeper is because the bottom of the chains are more likely to spit out due to the bottom ring being quite large

I've seen three legitimate spit outs that should not have happened for these ladies.......I am very surprised and disappointed that at such a big major they have low quality baskets. At this point in the game's career quality baskets is a necessity and I lay the blame at the pdga's feet. Let's do right by our players!

Yea I couldn’t agree more. The pdga holds golfers to a certain standard and etiquette and they should be held to a standard as well. Just putting baskets out there is unacceptable. They deserve the best money can buy.

Its the classic USWDGC not getting the MPO-level treatment. Notice that there are also no numbered bands for the holes either, and just the tiny koozies on the baskets. It'd be easy to miss any branding of this event that its a big deal. Thankfully Jomez and GK Pro do a great job hyping the event so it doesnt get lost. I forget it if it was 2017 or 2018 where the USWDGC was also on like Mach 2's and they had a surprising number of brutal spitouts

Yeah gotta say those baskets look like the ones at my local, basic courses. I mean I’m relatively new to disc golf and even I know that there should be a top band and heavier chains for baskets at professional events.

It was enough of a staple of Ricky Wysocki's approach game that he basically had a disc made just like it when he switched to Dynamic Discs (the Sockibomb Slammer is 3 1 0.5 4).

You signed my putter ( someone stole it with my whole bag) you were one of the nicest person I ever met in my 60 years. I tell that story to this day , that's what an impact Paige had on me. A lot of exact distance control type shots going on here and like Paige was saying, just a few minor corrections to some of these 1st round shots and we will easily be seeing a lot more birdies. I'm enjoying this coverage immensely. The commentary can be tightened up and made to be a bit more exciting instead of educating, but it is also nice to get some insight from some of the best in the world. The "this is what she should have done" isn't really as helpful as it sounds, but I get FPO has a slower pace and they're trying to fill in some conversation. Paige and Kat need some more booth time to really get in the swing of it but they're pretty good together right out of the gate. Either way, it's great to finally see these ladies on Jomez and I'm looking forward to the rest of the tournament. *Also for the love of God could we get some kind of standardized basket on the pro tours. These are awful.

@@daemonblackfyre2.049 I mean the PDGA has around 90k active members. That's a huge chunk of change they've received in just the past few years alone. I honestly have no idea what the breakdown is of their cash flow, but at least on DGPT stops they need to vote and decide on which baskets to use, and decide which are best. These Mach 3's don't cut it anymore. A couple weeks ago we saw Corey Ellis' putter fall through the bottom of the cage. The more coverage we're getting, the more we're being exposed to the poor conditions of some of the equipment on these courses. It's getting a bit ridiculous lol
