Fantastic reaction, JP! You feel exactly the same about this track as I do! Unbelievable that in 2024 we get this amazing gift from Jon & The Band Geeks. This sounds better than anything Yes has done for many, many years, probably going back as far as _Going For The One._ Jon doesn't sound anywhere close to 80 years-old here. It's incredible the way he's maintained his voice. I can hear nods to "The Revealing Science of God", with the chant section at the beginning, as well as "Going for the One" with that walking bass line in the middle section, and perhaps even "Close to the Edge" near the final quarter. I'm so happy that you liked my recommendation, sir. Happy 2025!

As someone who has followed yes and jon anderson since 1976 at age 14 it is really cool to have new music 48 years later. Impossible. Also a joy to see a relatively new listener like yourself to be able to experience hearing this for the first time along with the rest of us yes-heads.

Hey Justin! TRUE is my album of the year! Jon at 80 still sings like 40 years ago. The Band Geeks are so talented! Many channels on KZbin also picked TRUE as their #1. FANTASTIC album!!!👍🎵🎼🎶😎

I've been a fan of Jon's for over 50 years and am knocked out that he can produce a piece of music like this at age 80. Onward and upwards Jon and great admiration for Ritchie and the band geeks bravo.

Hi Justin. Dave from Across The Ocean. Love your enthusiasm for this song. And i agree that Jon's voice is just amazing at 80; the Band Geeks musicianship is impressive; and I think it's great they are producing new music together in 2024, particularly as I been a Yes fan almost since the start, and I first saw them live over 50 years ago (and over ten times since then). But I don't think this song reaches the heights of their classic period - which I don't think will ever be matched in all of popular music. Enough said.

Hot Damn. Great song, Great album. This song never fails to put a smile on my face. The song is ear candy for Yes/Jon Anderson fans. There is so many Yes Easter eggs in it. Heart of the Sunrise, Revealing the Science of God, Close To The Edge, Going for The One, Awaken to name a few. Even though this is the pinnacle song on the album, I hope you continue to react to the other songs off of True. "Counties and Countries" is probably my next favorite. The Band Geeks are the perfect band for Jon, they even make a sappy Jon love song sound good. If you do continue to do the rest of the album, "Make It Right" and "Realization Part Two" should be played together. Peace and Happy New Year my KZbin friend.

I listened to the Band Geeks' rendition of classic Yes tracks and was amazed at the quality of musicianship. I've listened to True numerous times and really enjoy. Every time I listen it the feel and Jon's vocals remind me of The Ladder.

He had a chat with Andy Edwards the other day. You'd probably enjoy that. (I deliberately avoid the word "interview", because it very quickly becomes two musicians talking music, and the musical life - although with one of them bowing occasionally, and being a fan). Wonderful song. My first time listening to it, too. (A lot of my first listens are here. Always good when it's another Yes related song I was too stupid to appreciate when young.)

Seriously has the sound of the 1993 Talk album. "Endless Dream" in particular but with the choral sound of 70s yes and the layered music and vocals. Great music can still be made when making great music is the goal.

I love Jon Anderson and I love Yes. ❤ Remember Jon hasn’t been in Yes since 2004. That’s 20 years. Jon Davison has been the lead singer in Yes for 12 consecutive years. (2012-2024) The longest consecutive run of JA in Yes was only 1969-1978. Jon Anderson quit Yes 3 times and Jon Davison hasn’t quit Yes at all.

My favorite lyrics for this: Seen through your eyes, be the one connection. The dream is clear, lifting you up, higher and higher. We fantasize, we are the world of dreaming. We harmonize, deep in our heart, everlasting harmony. This grand design, we control the meeting. This gift of time, lifting us up, higher and higher, letting go.

I love this track very much. It's a great nostalgia tour de force for Jon. It brings back The Revealing Science of God, Close To The Edge, Awaken and even Endless Dream. And the Geeks even remind me of Neal Morse with the tune after the intro chants.

Happy with each song I hear from this album. I think I realized what I like is that no one is trying to copy Howe, or Squire, Wakeman. There are some similar sounds but mainly it has some YES moments. I think that’s what’s nice to hear.

Jonny shows us that he's still the one and only Jon F-king Anderson. This album is the best thing he's done in decades, and he's done a lot of great things in that time. All he needed was the right band to recreate the freshness and genuine excitement of original Yes, and out pops this. I can't wait to see what else these guys come up with together. I can't believe you're not doing a full sequential album listen of True - the whole album is great! This song is the longest and the big epic, but there's no big gap in quality, this is what this album is like. You've also never sampled what Jon did with Roine Stolt (from The Flower Kings, who I don't think you've ever listened to either), 2016's Invention of Knowledge - it's a surprising banger as well. Yes isn't dead - not while Jon lives. Maybe this will inspire you to catch up. But first things first, do yourself a favor and listen to the rest of the True album.

YES YES YES - This is just an incredible album. Counties & Countries is my favorite, but I love this one too. By the way, Justin, I think you'll really enjoy 'Part 5' of my sequel. Let's just say this song is in it, partly, along with several others. You'll see, but I hope you listen to my narration too. You'll see why with Part 5, if you do. ttyl : )

Yes, a bit like Yes, a bit like Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe, a bit like the "Drama" period, a bit like Anerson's solo project. Overall, quite pleasant to the ear at times, perhaps even at time beautiful, however a bit disjointed at times. I noticed that since 1996 "Keys to Ascension" Yes's compositions have become a bit disjointed ,they no longer constitute one congruent whle like "Close to the Edge", "Gates of Delirium", "Awaken", "Hearts", "Endless Dream", or even "Machine Messiah" for that matter. However, this piece ("Once Upon a Dream") is definitely better than what can be found on "Keys to Ascension", "Keys to Ascension 2", "The Ladder" and most of Yes albums post 1994.
