How great is this. Ya these songs had their original expression but so versatile with Jons voice - you put any band behind that voice and it would sound immaculate.

Fantastic, a unique, one-of-a-kind voice that can never truly be replicated, never truly be replaced. In the 70+ times I've seen him perform live, he has never, not once, disappointed. His passing will be one I'm going to have great difficulty with, long live Jon Anderson.

Back in the late 60's I think Alan 'Fluff' Freeman played a track by an unknown band. A cover of a Beatles song Every Little Thing. I was attempting to complete some homework in the Kitchen of my family home. I heard Jons voice for the first time. Now aged 67, I reflect warmly what a huge part this beautiful human being has played in my life. Thank you Jon. Listening to this medley I have tears running down my face. Live on the wonderful Jon Anderson.

I used to listen to the Alan Freeman show, on Saturday afternoon, he played more diverse music, other than chart music, it was on here that I heard and loved The Nice. Same age as you btw.

Jeez!This is 2023, and this was put up in 2012?! I can't believe I have not heard this before! Song of Seven has always had a special place in my heart. I love the band JA got together for the album, but MAN they are SMOKIN' here! Yes' material is no easy thing and they pulled it of seamlessly from what I could perceive. That said - THE ENERGY! Wow! For those who saw the show, any idea about how old Deborah (daughter) was? Under 10, over 10? She is quite something too. Her latest project (that I'm aware of) is an excellent documentary call "Women of the White Buffalo" regarding the plight of the Sioux Nation, specifically the females.

WOW, the best band Jon ever had as a solo artist, sounds really incredible!!... unfortunately he was forced to disolve this line-up upon the completion of the British tour in late '80..., it was a financial disaster and he couldn't afford to go on like this, so he returned to the studio for the recording of The Friend of Mr. Cairo with Vangelis, carrying Dick Morrisey with him.

If this doesn't demonstrate exactly why JA was the soul of Yes, as well as its binding force, i really don't know what will! All the other incarnations we've had are really little more than tribute bands, especially without Squire.
@Wholeogram

I thought the same thing! But, what can you say, there are two main camps and who cares about "proving" anything? What's clear to me is that if you can't HEAR n FEEL the weight of the intense creativity of Yes' '70s era being lifted off of Jon, one is...living on sluggish earth and not in the dimension that JA is in! I love Yes, but I LOVE Jon's spirit!

Funny that the one who uploaded this didn't answer... maybe this isn't even in his possession Actually, I just own another concert from the same tour, released officially. Jon once started a huge project called The Lost Tapes" that was never completed. The idea was to release 20 CD of rare tracks, live recordings circa 2005... This was a kind of pledge campaign, initially, but the very small English independant label Voiceprint released the CD's in stores. Jon released less than 8 albums, but I own the double live album where there is another take of this Yes Medley : it's called Live in Sheffield 1980 (the concert is from the 3rd of December) and this is a double CD, featuring some rehearsals with the band to complete a little bit the 2nd CD. It was released in 2006 by Voiceprint.
