Jon Batiste And Stay Human on the streets of Williamsburg (Tue 6/9/15)

All it took was a post on his Facebook page that read
"Can you meet me at 6pm at Bedford Ave and North 7th St? #socialmusic #loveriot"
And with that Jon Batiste And Stay Humantook a Second Line party down Bedford Avenue through the heart of Williamsburg and into McCarren Park for 90 minutes of Popular music that spanned the the past two centuries and proved why he is ready to be the new Late Show with Stephen Colbert band leader

It's all good. I'm in Florida on a Friday, April 8 of 2022. It's a miserable day in Florida. It's still stupid and weird in the world. I was curious what that kind of drum was that shows up starting at 5:01 and did a bit of googling. For those that didn't know (like me), that's a cajon box drum, originally from Peru. The guy playing it is Japanese drummer Taku Hirano, who's toured with Fleetwood Mac, Bette Midler, Stevie Nicks, and Cirque du Soleil, to name a few. You can find him doing some pretty sweet cajon solos on YT.
