The absolute craziest part about this is hearing him effortlessly freestyle lyrics and Melodies that end up being the final lyrics/melody. These things literally just come to him from out of nowhere.

If you listen to his lyrics, he tells you where it comes from. He’s got a gift and we’re lucky enough to be sharing the experience of watching him grow.

I would fully suggest reacting to "the making of hand of god", personally for me one of the best ways to finish off an album with that beauty of a song.

I just started learning about sound engineering and microphones have different Polar Patterns. If you look at microphones on the internet, they will have different pickup patterns. I am not too sure what pattern the guitarist's mic is at 13:09 but it only picks up sound that is directly in front of him. Jon's mic is omnidirectional so it picks up from around him. You can look more into it cause that's all I know.
@alexglassman32852 жыл бұрын
I’m a music major studying audio production. One part of this is they’re using directional microphones and possibly dynamic mics (they are much less sensitive than other kinds). The other reason is, it doesn’t matter if they pick up the other instruments. In fact, they are picking up the other instruments but it doesn’t matter because they’re all playing together.
@Jaggison2 жыл бұрын
@@alexglassman3285 Yea I really got no clue but I tried. I’ll learn it sometime
@TheFullydiamond2 жыл бұрын
they’re direction microphones. meaning they only pick up sound in front and not around. for those “around” sounds that slip in can be filtered out in editing
@benjaminhoopes28812 жыл бұрын

@jaygeis2 жыл бұрын
for your question: the mics still pick up the sound but it doesn't really matter because the mic that's for the certain instrument basically cancels out any of the other sound, since its all being played at the same time it isn't a problem
@MercuryKhai Жыл бұрын
It’s compression for the mic question. And for me, as an in the box engineer, I usually have a waves rider to keep the sound in check. 😊

There is something called a gate, that allows you to quite sounds lower or higher than a certain threshold. Also the mics have polar patterns that allow the sound coming from the front of them to be heard the most, and sound from other directions aren't picked up as much. Any sound bleeding in from other instruments can be lowered with a gate.

So the other mics only pick up a certain direction, so they’re only gonna pick up what you point it at. There’s always gonna be a little bit of bleed but normally you’ll put a moveable wall in between to get rid of that
