Younger me loved my Jon. Can go and fish everything with those. Looking forward to the build my man.

It sounds like you got a great start fishing. The jon holds its own. Even after we get larger vessels and fish bigger waters. We all have fond memories of the ol' jon boat.

Very cool brother. Had a friend, back in Ohio, who fished with a Jon boat for many years. Good choice.

Jericho!!! Good to hear from you brother! Yeah these jon boat boys at my local lake are tearing it up and I don't want to miss out. It's going to be a fun project. I hope you are doing so well my friend. I think of you and your boy often.

I fish raystown for everything out of a 1648 flat bottom. June thru August you got to watch the main lake on the weekends. But rest of the year I go where I want on the main lake.

Your boat sounds quite a bit more stable than this old jon I got. Good points. 6pm - 6am, the coves, or no-wake zones keep us fishing even on busy days. Look out of those rouge wake boats though. They don't realize how dangerous that wake is for a small boat.

I need a boat like your big one, but i would never get rid of my jon boat. Fished raystown for 25 years in it and catch eveything that swims.

Yes you do! Well said. As the boats get bigger there are opportunities to fish bigger waters. Raystown is just small enough that a jon works. Be wise. Don't gamble. And go catch fish!
