I was 12 when the album that this song is from came out. I remember hearing the single Some People and thought I would buy the cassette. Then I heard such great tracks as Waterloo, Straight Ahead and Hell or High Water and was blown away, but this song sent shivers down my spine and I spent hours listening to it. This is one of my all time favorite albums and moves me to this very day. Great memories.

I went to see Jon at Parramatta Leagues club. I wasn't a fan, but I really liked the woman that asked me to go. Yeah, growing up, Jon was often played at parties. But live, well, I became a fan that day. He was awesome. And this song was one of the reasons I became a fan. I'd never heard it before. It blew me away.

Love this song always have, I can see a whole stage play or even movie based upon this song. I had the privilege of seeing Jon a few times in concert but the two that stand out are 1979 Opera house steps and around 1997 Burwood NSW RSL , That night his crew and he almost ran me and my Mum over as they hurtled out of the car park, They stopped he smiled and apologised and then rolled on.

thank you for posting this i remember being in the audience at St George Leagues club in 1983 to see Jon English an Marcia Hines perform for their Jokers & Queens Tour. I was lucky enough to spend time backstage after this show. Jon was distant but Marcia was charming and gracious. I had not heard this song before and it sent chills down my spine after this performance!!!!!!!! Front row, I was mesmerised by the story!!!!!!!!!!!!!
