I'll give Chandler the benefit of the doubt for now. I won't say he's turned into a Tony yet. Watching the Usman and Cejudo podcast breakdown, they agree Charlie Olives had a great plan by taking out Chandlers legs early which helped alot for those take downs. We saw Chandler resort to his old self by throwing wild swings. He's a warrior for surviving to the end. There's still life in the old dog.

Josh was spot on when he said Stipe looked more old than Jon looked good. You can’t sit there and tell me that this Jon Jones looks the same as the one that finished shogun, lyoto, rampage, Glover etc. Jon barely beat santos and Reyes and we’re honestly going to sit here and say he’s just so good he makes one of the best HWs we’ve ever seen in the UFC, look bad? Anyone that’s actually watched Stipes title run could see Stipe looked old, slow and unprepared.
@Kdawg20Ай бұрын
Why would we tell you that? That Jon didn't weight 240lbs. Obviously a fighter is not going to look as fast and sharp when hes fighting 40lbs heavier. That probably didn't even cross your mind huh? Lol
@Kdawg20Ай бұрын
Josh sounds like the same type of person that always brings up Bones arrests and ped/drug charges rather than his success in MMA. You can just tell he doesn't like him. Never once did he bring up how he's fighting 40lbs heavier than he did his whole career and that will COULD have the same effect that aging does in slowing the body down. It's def possible that was why Jon looked sluggish and if Josh wasn't sounding so damn bias against him he would've and shouldve acknowledge it could've been the weight gain.
@vcam-g9hАй бұрын
Stipe looked ok, styles make fights stipe is a boxer jon stayed on the outside and pick him apart, when stipe tried to get in on the inside jon ran away. Stipe is good at defending double and single legs so Jon use a surprise trip to get him down and those elbows almost finished him that is what made him look old and slow.

The whole segment on Oliveira v Chandler was about how bad Chandler looked. Absurd. Charles and Arman fought to a draw basically. He is prime for the winner of Arman and Islam. I think he can get the title back. He is still evolving after all these years in the UFC. His head movement was much better in this fight. He was actually rolling w punches and not staying square in the pocket, and his wresting and judo trips were impressive.

Stipe had 0 lateral movement. He does not have athleticism like jon does. I get everyone glazing division 1 wrestling but at 42 years of age? Tom was correct. You have to be sharp and fast against jon jones. The reason why he almost lost to reyes was because of the fact that reyes was the bigger stronger faster more explosive athlete. Jon at hw has less movement capabilities that he had in lhw. I think this tom fight is gonna be a quick one for tom. Excatly, people think Tom is just going to be able to blitz Jon with his speed but good luck trying to close in on someone who not only has a significant reach advantage but also has lethal leg kicks and equally as destructive counter elbows. Plus, much superior wrestling with a longer reach is another massive problem for Tom. It’s only after he beats him, will people realise how silly they were for thinking he can beat Jones! 😂

@ No, he’ll be more experienced, with the better grappling, longer reach, much more diverse in his attack and an absolute killer mindset. Here’s really what’s going to happen, Jon will target Aspinal’s dodgy knee with kicks to the side of it, attack his body with teep kicks and use elbows if Tom tries to blitz and close the distance, he will proceed to attack until he backs Tom against the cage, then he will take him down and ground and pound him into oblivion!!!

I'm with Josh on this one. Stipe looked old, but Jones' speed was nothing to write home about. His fight IQ is top-notch, but he also looked slowish.
@hybrid.catastrophic.impact6071Ай бұрын
He was 40lbs heavier duh? Jones is still better than aspinall especially aspinall weak knee. Aspinall is another hype train that Jon will beat like the others. Aspinall has never face any fighter as skilled as jones. Jones versatility is Tom's kryptonite.

100% with Josh on this one!

What do your want? Jon dominated the fight he was flawless. That was his strategily. He slowed the fight down.
@codychapman7342Ай бұрын
He was not flawless. Stipe landed shots and one judge gave him the 2nd round. Good performance but not flawless.
@tmoney4204Ай бұрын
Stipe was old we all knew this c'mon completely agreed with Josh on this one.
@shel0016Ай бұрын
Stipee was old that's the only reason Jon won. Stipee don't got it anymore. That's the truth
@emasud17Ай бұрын
Jones absolutely dominated the ENTIRE fight. Prior to the fight people thought Stipe had a shot. It was a masterclass and literally effortless. Jones wasn’t even trying. Jones fought for 30 seconds more in the past 4 years (Cyril).

Thank you for fixing it! It was boring to hear Josh speaking by himself. I myself I’m here more for big John lol

Those were very few blows to the back of Olivieras head compared to the fourteen bombs that Ngannou dropped on Ferreiras beck head.

Josh is right on this one, said me only once ever lol. Stipe was old. He was doing the old man shuffle before they even engaged. It is what it is, the wear athletes put on their body at some point they come in and they just show their age. His mobility was shot and it was glaringly obvious. Basically he looked like my 52 year old self trying to move around with a shot hip and 2 shot knees.

I still think there is no HW as complete as Fedor. He was not big but the power, speed, jiu jitsu, take downs, transitions, gnp, coming back from the suplex, the will to win was just unmatched, and at last the attitude like he is just going to get groceries but would rip apart people when the fight started.

I read en excerpt of this about Chandler on bloody elbow, had me crying....he's definitely taking the Ferguson route, but way more exciting of a fighter still....

Why is John discrediting Charles win by saying Chandler is at Tony Ferguson level?? Charles made Chandler look bad. This is Charles 3,0

I believe Jones being the GOAT of the UFC is uncharted territory that only a select few GOATs can relate to.

Setting aside for a moment how Jon and Stipe looked, I think it was very telling to listen to the things Jon said. Every time he opened his mouth he was playing up what a great heavyweight Stipe is and how tough he is. The truth is Jon has not really been tested since 2020. I will eat my shorts if he fights Aspinal within a year.

Big John, pressure and pushing forward is Charles whole game, he comes out like a dynamite. So not sure what you are talking about?

Mike Chandler could still bounce Dan Hookers head off the canvas. He almost gets finished every fight.

Rabbit manure is one of the best "fertilizers". It's one of the few manures that can be used immediately without composting. Its killing your grass? I would think it would be beneficial to your lawn.

Take a shot Everytime John or Josh bring up age. You'll need a knew liver. I've never seen two people so obsessed with a number.

You know when people are scared that A.I will take over the world? Well after watching A.I Josh Thomson defending Michael Chandler I’m like: “Nah we are good. A.I can’t fool us. The real Josh would have never taken Chandler’s side”.

Kudos to Josh for calling it as it is. Jon looked slow and very beatable, at least for someone as big and fast as Tom. If you have any other take on it it's cause you're a Jones fan and refuse to process what your eyes are showing you. This was not a good fight by any means.
