This interview is thoughtful, well-paced, insightful, and revealing, just like the Wicked movie itself.

Not sure he had a choice either which way. Stephen and Winnie had official roles in this movie production
@joons370719 күн бұрын
@@KAZAM707 i think winnie wasnt supposed to be a screenwriter and jon asked stephen to write the songs in the movie. they were not supposed to have official roles other than the things theyve done in the broadway. what i meant is, jon is the director which mean he takes full control of the project but instead of doing that he asked stephen and winnie before doing something. some directors doesnt want to includes the creator to work with the movies theyre making but that not the case with jon

I'm yet to see an interview where Jon M Chu talks about Maguire's brilliant novel that created this new version of Oz. He talks like Stephen Schwartz created "Wicked" from scratch. Maguire is a brilliant writer who deserves more recognition for his creation.

I agree however, Stephen created this version of Wicked. It’s a musical adaptation of the book

Jon and Stephen did a good job of overcoming Winnie's bad writing, frankly speaking. The two of them have such great ideas but her writing is not on the same level.

Is he saying Cynthia’s wicked witch will be wicked to Dorthy, at least at first, because she thinks she killed her sister. A documentary. Interesting…. I guess that’s the rage. Probably not as far though. But bits of truth.
