I adore Jon Meacham...such a wise, thoughtful, charming counterpoint to what we saw last night w TFG spewing his lies...to highlight the spiritual conscience of Lincoln is something I can't hear enough of right now...and from a very inspiring and compassionate soul.

Certainly. Religions are cults. All religions, and some better than others. Knowing good from evil has nothing to do with organized religion.

What I find fascinating… online platforms like Amazon and book publishers like penguin and statistical analysis companies like Pevals… indeed… cancer reality layers… batteries and social break out intersection platforms… Social interactions like X., digital applications, public policy pizza discussions… let’s just say… lock systems of better learning…. This has depth and places like New Orleans could sure use some brightness in the blind spots. Salt water intrusion and multi sector influence. I love books and I love the vast digital applications of better community engagement. In order for these sorts of data thick realizations to properly age and grow… and dance… translational medicine and energy/infrastructure need to create a baseline and space safe and arcs…. It’s very much workable… and a lot of fun…. #LoveEVICTShate #ironsharpensiron #emrtorealvalue #fractionatedimprovement #homeostaticworld

John, every religious group chooses its own interpretation of the Bible, gods power & teachings.

There is no "god." That's a fantasy that's based on ignorance. There is goodness and there is evil and we all know the difference and how to recognize either when we see it. Most humans are too ignorant to understand that there is no old bearded fellow sitting up there in the clouds, there are only people living here on this planet who know perfectly well how to choose between good and evil. Some make the right choice, others do not.

I'm a 42 year immigrant from the Third World. God bless America for taking me in. That African man at the end is an ingrate. He should know better. He should ask that question in South Africa which is now forcefully violently expelling Zimbabwean immigrants. Yes, not even Mandela country can stay on a righteous path in that man's birthplace yet he sees fit to publicly lecture America. And he's secure doing so! But seems ignorant of that reality and African reality.

French military victories are quite prevalent if you remove 20th century from the snide assertion made by Mr Evans (Napoleon et al. not to mention the dead at Verdun). if he were to look closer to home recent defeats of the United States are manifest on our television screens and in most cases predicable. Even Mr Lincoln was involved with far from united states with victories seen as Pyrrhic at best,

If you have some point to make, learn to construct a sentence and, dare I say, even a paragraph. . What you write makes no sense at all and is basically gobbledygook. .

Jon underestimates the importance of a major quality of the unified group he decries: they are all old, white, and male. (And I don't know, but I very strongly suspect that they disproportionately live in states their children have moved away from. Old and lonely, depressed and available to be roused into anger.) The good news is, a bit more than 7% of them die every year.
