I made one for the first time!!! This is so cool! It got a little difficult connecting the pieces at the end, and I think b/c of all the fiddling I had to do (I got frustrated and had to take half of it apart and start over again the next day), when the last piece went in, it was not so solidly in there as I would like, like as it appears in the video. I did squash fold connection for the entire thing, except for the very last unit in which I had to give in and make a simplified tab. Thanks so much for creating this and sharing it! I'll share a photo of my attempt later. I want to do more origami next year!

@@tished it's a regular polyhedra with 20 sides consisting of equilateral triangles. Better known as a 20 side die or d20

@@tished Polyhedra are polygons taken to the third dimension. Polygons are shapes with various sides. When polygons are regular it means the sides and vertices are equal. @theunknown15454 жыл бұрын
If 5 triangles are connected, it becomes a 3d pentagon. If 12 of these pentagons are made, a dodecahedron can be formed. As each pentagon has 5 triangles, it would be a 60 sided figure. I’m gonna try out my theory.
@theunknown15454 жыл бұрын
After some heavy calculation, I found out it would just make a giant Icosahedron with either 3 or 4 triangles as each side. That would also be pretty cool though. And btw, these can be also triangular pixels.
@monikanoronha90694 жыл бұрын
@@theunknown1545 if you want to try stuff like that out try snapology, it's easier
@theunknown15454 жыл бұрын
Well, my calculations were wrong. The 60 sided shape (which could be made) is called a pentakis-dodecahedron. And I will try out snapology.
