Do you use a clicker to guesstimate the weight in each keepnet ?

Only if I have to! I hate clicking so I often just guess 40lb and start another net if it's a 60lb limit

Hey mate, when you have a big match or festival on venues you don't go to often,what's best way to practice?do you go match times or just fish each method for hour or so? I've been doing well recently couple of 2nds and slow close to first overall and I'm going all out to do well in Lindholme festival Gary is running on 15th where casters will be used as well as no lash length and can overshot is allowed,I really want to make most of couple days practice next week and week after but I'm unsure of how to make the most of those days,thanks as always 👍🎣🎣

Just putting together a Westwood practice session. Practicing is an awkward thing as its easy to run away with things and think you have things nailed. Key for me is familiarising yourself with rigs depth and feeding but not to have a fixed plan. Practice everything you feel will be needed to win, but dont just catch catch catch. Try all the things you wouldn't try in a match. I want to rule things out as much as anything. But they key for me is just to just get your kit and rigs bang on so your straight off the starting blocks. I see so many just sit there and empty it on one method and they've learnt nothing. I will even fish two or three pegs in a day, just to familiarise myself with diff parts of a lake.

@@JonArthur thanks Jon, I'll be trying few methods and plan to get all shalla rigs right then re tying up some for the festival and try bomb pellet and wag whilst primeing shalla line, been watching your fisho qualifier and have set up a couple of 12 to 14 shalla kits as well as 10 to 12,I'll drop you a note of how it goes, thanks mate appreciate your time answering us all 🎣🎣🎣👍

New Matrix shot is excellent. I use cube-type shot for quick fine-tuning. But you must use flat head pliers or styl pincers NOT your teeth!

The peg definitely would have been good enough if conditions weren't so poor, but they clearly wanted calmer water on the day and I had none of that!
