I was a "directioner" back in the days of One Direction. I was a teenager and honestly, what better way to win the hearts of millions of young girls: 5 handsome guys with different styles and pop music? I listened to and followed One Direction on my own because I was very lonely at the time and I didn't share my passions with the few people I knew at school for fear of being teased. My favorites (yes, because we all had our favorites) were Liam and Niall, and I was totally won over by Liam's smile and funny side. Then time took its course and after the end of One Direction I became interested in other musical styles, while occasionally following Liam and Niall for their first solo works. They all shone individually. Today I'm 27, and with everyday life catching up with us, there's not much time to really take an interest in an artist, just listen to the radio with Ed Sherann or Imagin Dragons. But when I heard the news of Liam's death, I was simply stuck in front of my phone in shock mode - it's a fake, it can't be true - and as the hours went by and the news was confirmed and the circumstances of his death became known, my teenage heart broke. I've spent the last 5 days trying to figure out, what happened to him to bring him to this point? In my mind, he was simply enjoying life with his son and making music without too much fuss since "For you". I've watched a lot of Liam videos over the last few years, a lot of live shows, a lot of news (often disparaged) and tears filled my eyes yesterday watching him during a live performance of For You with Rita Ora. He had become a wonderful man, always smiling (and incredibly handsome), with an exceptional voice. I think Liam has lost his way over the last 2/3 years, with ups and downs, depression, fear of failure, the desire to do well and certainly a circle of acquaintances who have encouraged his problems with alcohol and drugs rather than frenched them. Liam I'm sorry that no one could save you and deliver you from this inner evil. No one can judge you now that you're gone. It comforts me a little to see that you received so much love from your fans in Argentina and around the world before you passed away. My fondest thoughts are with your son, your family and all those who loved you. Rest in peace Liam Payne. ❤
