"Nothing Sacred," directed by Michael Nesmith (yes, THAT Michael Nesmith!) Early nineties fun with Lycra, smoke and a pop song. Never saw the light of day for oh so many reasons....

This song never stops being totally relevant to my life. Every single time I listen to it for almost 30 years, it hits me the same way.

OMG I was SO into this album in my late 20's and early 30's. One night I was driving home from a gig in the backwood roads of NH (scarey!) and found a station playing this and Kevin Gilber's THUD in the same drive... talf about mind f&&king blown for a Berklee Grad trying to make it in music. Changed my life in a way, honestly!

For nearly 30 years I have rarely been able to understand why such talented true ARTISTS like Jonatha are so underappreciated in America. The only explanation I can come close to is what Arnold Schoenberg once said about art and the masses. She is truly a national treasure and crosses the pop to art threshold in just about every piece she has created.

agreed, but she has broken through in some ways, she has charted and has sold out shows and her broadwzy run of four noses.

I love it! One of the innumerable superb songs written by, IMHO, the most talented and beautiful (inside and out) woman in pop/rock/folk music in the last 40 years.

I have been listening to this stunning tune for nearly thirty years now. Still in my top 10. So very deep and based on pure raw emotion.

80's metal fan at heart, but Jonatha's writing is similar to many of my favorites. Fan since 95.

Same here. But I have to say that I'm glad I knew of her music long before seeing the video. The style is too bland and low budget for this track.

Wow. I saw the last 30 seconds of this on TV in 1995 when I was 7 or 8. The melody has always been in my head but I never knew what the song was until today.

We met briefly, when you were still part of The Story, at the Regina Folk Festival in Canada sometime shortly before the release of this tune. I was a fan of The Story,, and then was blown away by this record when it came out. I've had this song on regular rotation on iPods and iPhones ever since. Just discovered this video TODAY. Anyhoo...love this song and your inimitable songwriting. Thank you.

Thanks to the talents of Michael Nesmith! I never really learned the lyrics, other than the chorus. Always thought you'd be smiling during this song. Absolutely LOVED this album.

As exciting and musically relevant as it was when first recorded. Truly an excellent song, written with honesty and intelligence, sung with facets of bold artistry, vulnerable passion and timbral heartbreak and acted with luscious femininity.

It only now strikes me that JB would have been the PER-FECT act to show up and do a song at The Bronze on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER Also now I need to put PLUMB back in regular rotation. This is a great song (esp. the drums!) from an even greater album!

Funnily enough, my wife was re-watching season 1 of Buffy in the other room, and I heard Inconsolable playing, which started me down this wonderful Internet rabbit hole. It was an episode involving some sort of dance that Buffy wasn't going to attend, and had turned down Xander for, if you look for it.

Even Metheny was knocked on his butt by this "siren". The funny thing is Johnatha is not a technical musician like Metheny . Shes an emotional musician based in feeling.

Love the song! Video is weird, not a good example of how she really is in her performances, or her energy.
