This 19 yr old Teenager, Jonathan Antoine is the Discovery of the Century. His Beautiful Tenor Voice is Mature beyond his years. Jonathan is a sublime and unique tenor for a new generation of opera fans who are already coming to adore him. Not only does he have the technical proficiency and a pure instrument, he is so delightfully charming of personality! Our Maestro is the total package and I can't wait for the great things his future will bring, including, I pray, a headlining spot at The Metropolitan Opera in NYC. I wish the same thing. Jonathan has the Best voice amomg all the great performers that evening! One of then though was on the verge of overacting. I dunno but that's probably the way you start singing after intensive opera training? LoL anyway they're all great. by the way I've heard Vittorio Grigolo was the youngest (23) to sing at LaScala. Was that an opera performance? Studying seem to be really intensive as I've read somewhere he had other interest he had to give up. Like he was initially chosen to be part of IL Divo and dropped out to study opera . he also had to give up motor or car (racing?) It's really hard once one become famous. Because all the people who stand to make a fortune would keep telling you to just keep doing the same thing. But I trust and pray Jonathan and his family are there to protect his interest and ambition. The world of opera will really be missing something if it don't get to hear him sometime in the future. Can you imagine if Pavarotti or Domingo decided not to be an opera singers? Yes exactly 😀

janekerigan235 Jane, FYI Vittorio was a soloist with the Sistine Chapel Choir at age 9. At age he 13 his first operatic performance was in "Tosca" where he sang with Pavarotti . At age 23 he debuted at La Scala. He moved on to sing lead a role in the Broadway production "West Side Story" . His first solo album " In The Hands of Love" was released in 2006 He performed a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2006. Vittorio studied in France where he developed his repertoire of French Operatic composers and their works. When he performed in "Tosca" with Pavarotti he earned the nick name(English translation) little Pavarotti. The young man is a out standing tenor. Needless to say I am a fan of Vittorio and Jose Carreras.

Chuck Henry was that you who said to study opera one has to go to Italy or France? I remember someone saying that then others said no it can be done in England. But there is something about going somewhere to study ☺ and no unfortunately, Jonathan said he didn't get the opportunity to speak with either one.

janekerigan235 Jane, it's really a shame that Jonathan did not have any private time with Vittorio. I surmise you were also speaking of Placido Domingo. Did Rolando Villazon appear at the same program? If he did he was the performer with the overly dramatic stage presence. In many circles he is considered a hack/ham. If you don't have this 3 CD set I strongly suggest you buy it from Amazon UK "Classical Voices 2013" Jonathan and Charlotte performing "The Prayer" are the #2 artist on disk #1. The set contains works by the greats of the Operatic World with duets and solo performances. The set in it's self is a class in music appreciation . If you enjoy the operatic genera you will love this set. Happy listening!!

Chuck Henry I rather like Villazón. For two things. He's a very good teacher which means he was a great student. And, he's a very good analyzer of operatic character. He's usually spot on. Maybe he's very dramatic but there is a difference between dramatic and overacting. I also like his passion. No Rolando was not there. I was referring to Vittorio.
