What a remarkable dialogue about Ovid and Shakespeare and the transformations of the human nature.

Just having finished Metamorphoses a few minutes ago, I very much appreciate this discussion on the work.

Ovid is the most modern (or timeless) of all the classic poets. It's incredible to think he wrote 2,000 years ago, that he is speaking outside of time, and they can still make one laugh and connect to us emotionally, etc. His influence on Shakespeare is unmistakable.

After listening to this discussion, I'm thinking that Ovid and Shakespeare are the poets to delve into in 2020 and on through all of this upcoming decade! Metamorphosis.

William Shakespeare used a copy of William Golding's translation of Ovid's Metamorphoses. That copy is now in the crypt of St. Brides Church in Fleet Street, London. And valued at just over three million pounds. I used to really enjoy the Metamorphoses, but I got sick Ovid. Although I managed to make a film for my channel about Ovid 's telling of the myth of Artemis (Diana) and Actaeon. It's not a bad little film, recorded on a London street.
