@@colinmontgomery1956 its crazy because their careers have so many parallels - don Franklin pretty much started out acting in hollywood in 1985, same year as Blair, they both appeared on the cosy show, they both had hit shows on NBC, they both knew/worked with Sidney Poitier; Don Franklin is older by 4 years

Lucas as a character made a lot more sense than Wesley Crusher. The only thing I would’ve preferred to have seen in the show, starting with “Photon Bullet”, is Westphalen and Bridget setting Lucas up to have a decent life outside of SeaQuest. Maybe get Krieg to help him find a roommate and an apartment, set him up with official UEO defense contractor security clearance, and help guide him to a pick a direction that doesn’t have to be tied to a specific boat.

Oh man Wesley Crusher was annoying af. I don’t know why exactly, I mean Lucas had moments when you thought that this should be annoying be it anybody else but Lucas somehow made it work. Maybe because of his wit, strong morale streak and not taking sht from anyone. Unlike “shut up” Wesley.
