he's not bad but the other jojo are just so much better. - joseph cheats and runs away (who can tell me another shonen MC that does that) - jotaro may be edgy but we can see in part 4 and 6 that his attitude gave him personal problems - josuke is a normal teen with qualities and flaws - giorno wants to do good things but he's still a gangstar, someone who will corrupt society from the shadows - jolyne is someone who regrets her actions and try her best to be a good person again - johnny is a bad and selfish person that tries to change his karma, to want to live again and becomes someone better - jo2uke is kinda violent and cruel but at the same time he cherish the ones he love

This is what makes Jonathan a unique protagonist... He isn’t like those other Protagonists who have the generic protagonist hairstyle and are somehow overpowered and have a harem... No... Jonathan is very different, he knows when to accept defeat and admits that he must go further... He makes mistakes on the way which have major consequences on his journey unlike other protagonists who make mistakes but immediately Make up for it which is pretty bland... Unlike other protagonists who have bloodlust for the antagonist, Jonathan want’s to forgive Dio in fact loves him accepting him as a brother even after all the harsh things Dio has done to him.... Lastly Is that Jonathan is a noble person, and a person who respects.... Unlike those other protagonists who are very perverted... and also, Jonathan is not dense unlike the other protagonists... He understands what love is and in fact is outraged after Dio does the “Kono Dio Da” thing, But even if this happened, Jonathan forgives him and continues his Journey in both taking back his brother Dio and defeating him....

This was a really neat message to hear tonight. Jonathan is always gonna be my all-time favorite JoJo because of his strong morals and how he fights for them. As for the rivalry battle between Jonathan and Dio, I felt like I've been there before, in some way. Not 100% but in a way, I have. I've had a hard time at work because someone keeps on harrassing me and taunting me, running circles around me like I'll never be able to catch up to him, and all I can do is chase after him with fury in my eyes in an attempt to get back at him, but no matter what I do, and no matter how much I try settling things between us, he always steps out of line and does the most dishonorable of things. I've had a hard time focusing, and it's been weighing on my heart as of late... I would feel like Jonathan when he was a kid in episode 1, but I want to be able to settle things once and for all so he will stop harassing me for good. I want there to be a certain understanding that he can't just step all over me, but I don't want to stoop down to his level completely. This issue is starting to weigh heavily on my heart and it's affecting my work too, but I'm glad that there's somebody out there that I can identify with in some way, form, or fashion.

Jonathan is my favorite, despite the story of other joestars really impacting me, Jonathan’s absolutely noble character constantly makes me question and change my actions towards challenges, making me a better person, I am still a growing man, and Jonathan is honestly a major turning point in my own growth as a person, as is dio ( but that story is for another day ) as a good honest person, just watching his strength and his self assuradeness in his good actions gives me hope that good people can be intelligent, strong, AND moral, which helps me be better, tl;dr Jonathan is my favorite because he makes me a better man

other than being the gentleman he is, he technically saved his bloodline by; 1) meeting Speedwagon, winning his favor and in turn Speedwagon started a foundation that would be relevant for at least until a few more parts. 2) Severing Dio’s head, and in his final moments, dying and letting Dio take his body, even though it kept rejecting him, and this unintentionally lead to Jotaro killing Dio because of the weaknesses imparted to him by Jonathan’s body

I don't know if this comment is going to get any attention from anyone but..I just want to get it off my chest and is willing to say it to the whole audience of this amazing Video. I personally relate the most to Jonathan out of all of the Joestars and most characters in JoJo plus anime in general. Jonathan Joestar is my favorite JoJo because I love the tragedy of his story, and that I personally can see myself in the same situations he was in. Now obviously I haven't fought against My brother who wanted to become a very sexy vampire who has Buzz light-year like laser eyes, but more on how he struggled at home and so many things have just been awful for him. Dio to me, represents Evil. Not just an Evil person, but Evil in general. Whenever Jonathan first met Dio, he wanted to be friendly and certainly was, I myself have been called very polite by many strangers who have been very thankful for what I do for them, either by holding the door or assisting them with a situation they need help with, but Dio treats Jonathan like a rug. Stepping on him, crushing him and braiding him with pain. First is Father George Joestar, Dio is doing the exact thing that George would hope Jonathan would be doing, but seeing that Jonathan clearly not being up to Dio's level and smacks him. My father is a flawed Man, who would beat me or insult me for not being in the same mindset as him, and I wouldn't feel hardly any bit of love from him. The words he would use back then and Even today, can and will hurt me to hear, but I had to overcome them while being considered by many to be a very kind and caring person, I would push myself to turn away from said insults and keep doing my best to ignore them, but the beatings are ones that stick to me the most, and still somewhat haunt me to this day. The next one is The loneliness stage of Jonathan's cycle of despair. Jonathan is seen being in a youth boxing ground, and Dio is the surprise boxer, and Completely dominates Jonathan in the boxing match. Leading to Jonathan's deep dive of loneliness, being accused of being a lier and tattletale. Being accused is definitely something I've been through a lot in my life time. Wonderful ones such as : Gay hater to Theif. Loneliness is definitely the biggest obstacle I have ever known, I've been through it several times and have been very fortunate to overcome it. But every time it strikes, I struggle for months and months on end, from childhood to now as a 17 year old. But then Jonathan found a light in the darkness, and it was love. I recently was in a relationship but ended horribly, causing me to fall harder than before and wanting end it all. Which I did indeed try to do so, but I thankfully survived and have gone through several forms of mental health care, and will never allow myself to consider that option ever again. But Jonathan needed Erina during this time, and I love to imagine that one day I'll meet my special someone someday and live with them until My final breath. Jonathan had an all time blast with Erina, but Dio being Dio, took the kiss and made Erina scared to confront Jonathan, ending their young love, which made Jonathan fight Dio in the mansion, and finally achieving victory over Dio and proving that he is and will be a powerful person when it comes to the final point. This for me, symbolises how I have dealt with the people or problems and proving that I have what it takes to get through the evils plaguing my life, and I don't always get everything to be perfect, a lot of things are still in pain as of today. But my efforts let me know that I can become a better person in my life. I'm going to end this Here because this already long enough as it is, but that doesn't mean that haven't stopped telling and relaying my personal self and how Jonathan is one of my heroes in my life. So many of my friends have told me that I am their Jonathan Joestar. Being called and viewed the same as my hero is a giant morale boost in my life. Jonathan is super noble and all, but ppl often forget the parts where Jonathan was younger and strange. By that I mean how he used to smoke his father's pipe, went out swimming with Erina and did stuff that was apparently not seen as very gentlemanly (like caving their name into the tree lol) and he was really into archaeology and studying ancient torture and sacrifice.

It's one of the things that makes me like Jonathan as a character and in a way there's some complexity in him because of it. He's a character who forgives people and when he knows it's not in his best interest and the person is intentionally trying to hurt him and even when there's a possibility of backfiring. However I want to point out that it was also Jonathan's empathy and sparing Speedwagon (despite the other being very intend on hurting) that leads to not only Speedwagon being his most loyal friend but also to Speedwagon looking after his family after Jonathan is gone and through the Speedwagon Foundation after Speedwagon himself is gone. As for the scene with Dio, I don't think Jonathan believed Dio would really change, he knows he's a scumbag and he's not fooled by his words, and him letting Dio turn himself in I think was more as a courtesy to Dio than anything. Yeah in the end it backfires pretty badly because it leads to the death of George and to Dio becoming a vampire but it's important to note that after this Jonathan has no more mercy for Dio and is intent on killing him. Yet Jonathan is noble enough that after he thinks he killed Dio in Windknight's lot he sheds tears for him. You really don't get much characters like Jonathan Joestar nowadays and people don't really appreciate them either.

i always loved jonathan joestar, he was the most honorable joestar there ever was. i mean, he defended erina in a fight he knew he couldnt win, when he found out she was assaulted by dio he jumped over a 10 ft fountain in pure rage just to get to him quicker, and beat the hell out of him, then didnt kill speedwagon and his friends in london because he didnt wish to cause anyone greif, he did everything he could to protect his father. the others? i cheated on my wife (i regret that but araki made me do it), jotaro calls his mom a bitch, josuke steals money from me, giorno runs a mafia, jolyne constantly talks about sex, i could go on.

Oh thank goodness I stumbled onto this video just as I was feeling down about the fact that many people... don't seem to care for Jonathan, despite him being, yes, my favourite JoJo. Though keep in mind that I'm only, like, a little over halfway through Part 4, but I doubt that anything will change. I decided to watch JoJo on a whim due to my little sister talking a lot about it (her favourite is Joseph), and after some research on HOW to watch the show, I jumped into episode 1 on Phantom Blood. No joke, Episode 1 of Phantom Blood has got to be one of my most compelling pieces of story telling I have EVER SEEN. I could gush a LOT about that episode, but that's an analysis for another day - the point is, it instantly pulled me into the JoJo universe, and also made me fall in love with Jonathan as a character. He was just so *good* and I loved that and I loved him. So, y'know, you can imagine my utter shock and sadness when I finished Part 1 (my little sister would then proceed to send me memes she had been holding on to after I texted her frantically upon finishing Part 1). Oddly enough, I didn't cry, I was in too much shock and denial for that. (For comparison, I was legitimately sobbing at *that death* in Part 2). I did cry when I rewatched Phantom Blood though. Look, I just really liked Jonathan, okay? And I am at least glad he was given a death honestly worthy of someone like him - the fact that he died smiling, holding the head of his bitter rival/adoptive brother, just always gets to me. Sure, Dio still stole his body and did crappy this but aahhhhhhhhh whatever the two of them STILL basically ended up dying together if you think about it. Kinda fitting. So yeah, no doubt, Jonathan is my favourite JoJo because I am a boring person who tends to gravitate towards the *pure boi* kind of characters. The REAL conflict comes in who my second favourite JoJo is heh heh

Jonathan Joestar was a good person even if he didn’t know who Speedwagon as his men were, he considered even they have families who would miss them if they were die and would hold back facing them to prevent such an outcome. Not just a gentleman, somebody who shows great consideration to his fellow man may they be enemy or friend.
