As a black man who’s dated outside my race, that Coretta comment was the exact reason i could never defend him because it showed how delusional he was in terms of how he viewed himself in comparison to MLK or Obama which is insane enough on top of the fact that he said that to a white woman of all people. He could’ve just said you need to get your shit together if you’re gonna be seen with me but chose the most self absorbed, delusional, and condescending way to say it.
