And the thing people get out of that is that he's controlling instead of he's a man that is trying to set boundaries so he can be successful in life. this!! exactly! I'm a woman but I totally agree with you! One more thing: women can be 'imperfect victims' and are always heroic, but men who are accused can't be in any way imperfect, they can't have their traumas, their demons - they are always, right away guilty, and when they talk about their own traumas, and that they didn't want to do smth but they have their share of awful experiences, it never counts in cases like this, and it's always DARVO. That's insane, because, quite simply, most humans, men and women, are just complex and messy not evil, and we do most things because of our traumas - that is a genuine thing, not DARVO!!

As a man this is why I say at the first signs of this stuff you need to leave. I had a woman I dated that told me she had been abused by her boyfriend. She threatened to hit me and then told me the story of her "abuse" where she actually hit her boyfriend first and he grabbed her to keep her off of him. That day I resolved to leave. I slowly stopped contacting her. There is no justice for a man when it comes to this crap. They will leave you with a conviction and no prospects just like him. This is especially for a black man. I had another friend who's wife came after him with a knife and claimed he abused here. Luckily the man was pretty wealthy and installed cameras. He had an dvr and played the videos in court and this woman still wasn't charged. She still got partial custody of their child after attempting to stab this man in front of their child. When he reversed it, at 13:00 he's made a great point. If you reverse the roles; a man would've been shot and killed regardless of race but he does point to race here. And it's horrible what happened and what continues to happen and I understand it from his perspective and to some degree her perspective. You know, you're gonna be hurt and emotional and angry and distraught if someone cheats on you; I know what that feels like. But even in that rage, I would never hit my ex or try to scratch her or injure her even though what she did was god awful and heinous. Insidious even. And, if you reverse the roles in that car; it's clear what the verdict would be in seconds of thinking about it. Man attacks girlfriend when he catches her cheating, leaves injuries. Guilty. He'd be paraded through the streets as a monster. And the injuries on her? I don't know. We've had many situations where partners have injured themselves in order to spite the other partner into legal trouble. It's like the greatest trump card you could pull because it'll really ruin someone. But is that what happened here? I don't know. She was emotionally distraught, maybe she injured herself in the scuffle and the adrenaline was running high so she didn't notice until long after? Maybe. Maybe it happened later on when she was alone. There's a lot of conclusions you can draw but when you have a witness right there in the car who says "hey, he didn't hit her", that should be more than enough in this 'he said she said' dispute. When everything is taken into context, that should be sufficient. Overall, I do not think this is just and I believe he should be free from all charges. I don't see enough credible evidence to support such convictions. However, he's right. He was reckless with her heart. He cheated. And as a man, or I should say a fellow man, he should be ashamed of that. Because as a man, we do not do that. As a gentleman, you certainly do not do that. tl;dr, The man has his flaws but he did not commit any crime and therefore should not be charged.

Toxic relationships can ruin your life. One almost ruined me. I’ve said things I’ve never wanted to say. I grabbed my ex one time because I just wanted her to stop being so horrible towards me. It haunts me because I am not the type of person to harm anyone like that. It was a three hour long argument that started because I just took offense to something she said. Any time I ever mentioned that I was hurt or offended by something, I would be ignored, stonewalled. Deflected … in my own home. It made me feel like I was going to crazy on top of her lies of talking to other men. When I grabbed her I just wanted to ask her to stop. Please stop being so horrible towards me. It was the only time I ever did anything like that. I never intended you to hurt her. I loved her. I feel so bad for him because there’s evidence that she was horrible towards him. Men (and women) please get away from toxic relationships. It can ruin your life and haunt you for a really long time. It can take you out of your character and test your integrity

Thank you for your transparency…what you said is so so true. Toxic relationships will absolutely take you out of character and end your career of even worse… and to all men who are or have been treated horribly, please just leave those people. Don’t try to explain. Just leave because it’s not worth the awful consequences. Women, slow yourself down, listen to the man in your life…if you’re being treated horribly--leave. Just leave quietly. However, listen to that man. Consider that he has feelings too. You can’t scream and yell at a man and think he can take it because he’s a man. You can’t emasculate a man with your words and think he’s supposed to just suck it up-take it like a man…wth even is that?? So…yeah, can WE ALL just treat each other better? Period.

I have zero toleration for disrespect & women that have dealt with me know this. Been married going on a decade now & me & my wife never fight. You gotta set those boundaries waaay early for yourself and your relationship ESPECIALLY if you plan on marrying & having kids. Money can't buy respect & folks have low self esteem & will tolerate any kind of behavior.
