And it does specify that which is adequately explained by ignorance/stupidity… I don’t think ignorance is adequate to explain all of the uses of straw man argument, misrepresentations of scientific principles & research, and complete dismissal of arguments without any reason as to why the arguments are disregarded. And when presented with the possibility that their actions are motivated by greed & protecting their grift, I think that does a far better job explaining what they do and why. While down there in the Antarctic, is it possible to measure the angular size of the sun when/if it is circling the participants? To me the biggest proof that the sun is not local and circling a flat earth is the fact that it doesn’t change size while doing so. Using a solar filter will also help to show any sun spots on the surface of the sun. If you can plot the sun spots and then someone elsewhere on the earth, flat or globe, does the same this will also be problematic to either side depending on the results. If the sun spots stay constant it points to a globe earth, should the sun appear to be rotating as it goes around the viewer then it points to flat.

If you haven't received any advice concerning this debate personally, I'd advise keeping in mind that there is a high likelihood that the debate will skew into entirely unnecessary directions. You strike me as a deeply patient man, but keep in mind that you deserve better than to be ridiculed or questioned for doing an unprecedented event that single-handedly does what many have been insisting since flat earth peaked. No matter what, sun or no sun, both sides should laud you and your actions. I would make comment that effectively giving editing rights on the documentary may have been too far, but in likely event the sun stays in view, I'd struggle to understand how it could be flipped outside of overt and malicious lying.

Flatzoid made a video showing a time lapse with camera following the sun at the south pole (with the Amundsen Scott station I think) and against any evidence he affirmed that the smoke from the chimney was going backwards, and it was an arctic video reversed. I've seen that video. Flatzoid (and others) fail to understand a timelapse is a very low frame rate and it was basically random formation of the smoke in any given frame. Flatzoid is probably also confused by video of a vehicle driving and the wheels appearing stationary or appearing to rotate backwards.

IF there are really new people joining the flat earth cult - as they claim - then I tend to agree. It would be an act of preemptive education. However, the documentary would have to be very carefully done, and very thorough in showing evidence. To not just get criticised as propaganda. Yes, the flat earth cult members will do so anyway, but the better the production, the harder that claim is to substantiate. That would then make for an expensive production. If given the task of creating a script, I would have three aspects woven into the final presentation: - The history of our understanding of the shape of this planet - The various scientific studies that support the present model. Preferably with some observations that can be reproduced by viewers. - The trip to Antarctica, and the observations made there.

@@BadBruceyeh, I’ve seen him be rather one sided with who and what he actually tries to moderate. Interestingly enough, it seems to always correspond to a period when he’s clearly looking at something else on his monitor before jumping back into his moderating duties. Definitely gives the impression that he isn’t paying attention and is just phoning it in. I’m not the only person that’s made remarks about it. He’s one of the least effective moderators I’ve seen in the online debate world. I will say this - he doesn’t appear to ever let personal biases or ideology affect what he’s doing, so in that sense he is way better than a big chunk of mods.

why does everyone have to be so contentious and hateful from both sides of the debate (including from the commentors below) There are lots of people from both sides and it would seem that letting people believe what they want is their own business. As a flat earther I totally see why people believe the earth is round, and dont ever belittle them for it. I even hope round earth prevails so that I can have peace that I wasnt lied to by oligarchs. Yeah, my current belief is that we are never given the truth by the controllers of info. I suppose people feel better by trying to make others who arent likeminded feel stupid. Here's my suggestion for TFE Pt2 which would totally settle the debate . Sail round Antartica. If its a globe the ship will always steer towards the coast/southwards. If its flat the ship will always steer away from the coast/northward. For me, this would be definitive proof not dependant on what is in the sky but on the actual earth itself. Has anybody ever thought about that because it just came to me in a moment of what I call inspiration.

The thing is, if you're sailing along, say, the 60th parallel, then you're just steering a constant heading. You'd just be keeping your gyrocompass reading 90º or 270º while constantly correcting the helm for the waves and the winds as the ship sort of yaws about. (It's rough down there). Flat or globe, it will of course be a circle - but a very large one. You literally couldn't tell that you were veering left overall, or right, because it would be only a few degrees a day. You wouldn't notice it among the noise of just driving the thing. But the overall distance would be a dead giveaway. And the Vendee Globe race is underway right now. The answer is in the name.

Because it's a gradual transition from full day to full night and vice versa in autumn and spring certain parts of Antarctica actually get a few months of sunrises and sunsets while the days or nights get longer and longer until it transitions to full 24hr sun or night. The closer you are to the rotational southpole the closer you get to actuall 6 month's of day and night. However, I don't know what, where, or how you googled it because I did and it does give me the simplified version of 6 month's of daylight and 6 month's of night time.

Make sure everyone gets a $20 gem scale with calibration weight. Calibrate at home... then measure the same weight in Antarctica. The weight should be measurably heavier in Antarctica... only possible on a globe. Easy cheap experiment, and Antarctica would be the maximal weight delta.

"Black Swan flat earth" photographs, they are seeing around 15 miles from 1 foot above the surface (the surface of water). The globe math says we should not see beyond 1.25 miles.
