I've read it many times. I love it everytime. Jonathan is the best.

I just started this novel and so far I really relate to the two narrators and it is a very endearing story. This was a very interesting interview and I can't wait to finish this novel. :)

This was the most amazing book I have ever read. As a kid I never really got into reading books, and last month we read it in School. Having access to the thoughts that the other characters do not have access to made this book intriguing. I felt like i had a backstage pass into the characters' brains

How do Grandpa's letters make it into the book, being that they were buried?

Now, the world can be a nasty crazy place out there, we need a lot of courage and we need a lot of resilience after that, and we will fall down before we stand up… What really matters is the silence of the night in our conscience, when we are alone. We cannot control what happens but we can use what happens. We have so much reserves of love and support inside us, if we can just remember that in our mind and move on.

This is a book about dysfunction. It is not appropriate for Minors. The fact that it is recommended for AP Literature classes around the country is insidious. I find it highly doubtful the motivations of the author for the scene on page 201 where the 'psychologist' is playing mental associate a game with the child patent and injecting sexual and homo-erotic references into it. This is abuse and grooming behavior. its disgusting. The reader will empathize with the main characters perspective, it is very much like the author is subjecting the reader to the same psychological mental association exercise. I don't think subjecting readers to emotional abuse is 'good writing'.

To be the worst, actually, is another credit for the book.
