Actually Amtrak is trying to work out a deal with Canada, USA and Mexico for a line from Vancouver, Canada to Mexico city, Mexico. If they succeed in the making of the deal it will be the start of a possible continuous route all the way to Panama city.

Poland has the best Railroad crossing warning systems in the world. Color lights that tells you exactly how many minutes a train is away. blue=1 hour, green=30 minutes, yellow, 20 minutes, orange 15 minutes flashing orange 10 minutes, flashing 5 minutes( gates will shut in 2 minutes) solid red 2 minutes. (however the gate will remain closed for at least another minute or 2 just encase another train is coming from the other direction. Due to this system Poland is one of the top 10 countries with the least amount of train vs car accidents in fact the world ratings are 1 japan, 2 Australia, 3 New Zealand( this is the shocker because it has one of the most dangerous railway in the world. a level crossing of an airport runway and its a people route!) 4 Poland, 5 canada
