Yea I mean you could just use 1 phone or tablet + webcam but my webcam is only 720p so I opted to figure out 2 devices to get higher resolution. I'm going to keep experimentnig on my end to see if I can streamline it more too.

a few tips, if you want good quality long usb cables, get the ones that are used for tethering professional cameras for studio shoots, Tether Tools is the brand and you can go up to 15'. Also since it looks like you need just 2 video inputs you can probably do this with mirrorless cameras and a 2 or 4 input capture card. Your setup works but it is a bit jank, and the price of the phone and tablet you can easily pickup 2 cameras with lenses second hand and a capture card. cameras with SDI outputs will allow you to run longer cables if you want to have your PC in a different room from where you are capturing the motion.

Thanks man, yea I used to be more involved in VR back in the day like around 2016-2019 but haven't been doing it as much these days. I still have a bunch of the headsets but been really waiting to see what Valve does with an Oculus mobile competitor because I'm not really digging the Oculus closed ecosystem.

Hey, man, what do you use for finger motion capture? I don't want to buy the finger mocap, so markerless finger solution do you recommend? Leap perhaps? Also, have you heard of cyanpuppets? It is a two cam solution as well. And have you heard about Freemocap? It looks like a hard solution to get started, but you can do more than two cams--I think at least 4.

I don't understand why yours turns out so good and mine doesn't. I've got two webcams on tripods in good positions, good lighting, and I even got a green screen for a good contrast background. Calibration is also good I believe. I still get this jitteriness in the movements that looks unnatural and it doesn't capture all my head turns for some reason. It's better but it doesn't look as good as yours and I don't know why.

@@JonathanWinbush I think it has something to do with my lighting it's the only thing I can think of. Natural light in my house tends to create bright highlights around me which I think is screwing with the motion tracking. Using flood lights and my living room lights helped a little bit at night because I'm able to control the lighting more. It's still not perfect though.
