I had a hole like that in my aluminum boat and I took it to an aluminum welder who fixed it with no problems. He just cut a square patch out of a sheet of aluminum and welded it over the hole. He also soaked the foam behind the hole with water first to avoid catching the boat on fire. It only cost $80 but that's actually an easy fix.😋

I used J-B Weld to patch my boat. There's also alumaweld. Sheet metal makes a good backing if you're not comfortable just filling the hole.

Tough luck on the hole in the boat. I doubt you will see this with the number of views and comments you get but it's worth a shot. You can always try "Brazing Aluminum" or have someone try it for you to repair your boat. You can look up brazing aluminum and it can be used as an alternative in some situations to welding aluminum and it can be used to cover holes and such as well. Best of luck with the repairs no matter what you have done to it! As a Michigan viewer, really enjoying the Maine content you're putting out!
