This song came out on Valentine's Day of 2018, the same day as the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting, one of the kids who died, Joaquin Oliver, was a huge Frank Ocean fan, dyed his hair blonde, and the whole package. I remember scrolling through r/frankocean that morning to hear news about the song, and I then found out about Joaquin. So we all kind of decided this song was for Joaquin, it was such a beautiful moment of solidarity, I was so proud to be apart of that community. I just wanted to share a little insight about what the song means for me, it has a very special place in my heart, and genuinely makes me feel a way no other song ever has and probably ever will.

I'm a Stoneman Douglas student and this song hits home in so many ways. It was released the day of the shooting, and one of the victims was a massive Frank Ocean fan. My experience with this song is really weird, I've avoided this song since it came out (came out at a point in my life where I could avoid it very easily) until a new Frank song came about, I did the same with the blonded singles and eventually listened to all as if they were and album and the experience was amazing; eventually it became very clear that no song would come out for a while so I decided that I would save it for when I really needed new Frank. Very recently I had some personal psych issues so I popped the Moon River and I have to say, this could very easily be my favorite piece of music ever.

Watching this reaction felt as if I was looking at a mirror. When listening to the song I was paralysed with a calmness, rendered still in awe of the harmonies, tone and soulfulness. I was transferred to a place of life reflection and contemplation, where will I end up, what will I do, what has got me to where I am now? Those feelings are both daunting and rare - to face such existential questions all the time would be unhealthy; nonetheless it does that to me. Few songs have that power and yet it is so brilliant I constantly press the replay button. Emotionally timeless. Loved the reaction mate !

I totally agree with you Jon mate! He's a genius of this generation 👏🏾... stirring up all that we have and hold within us emotionally... I was introduced to it by my youngest daughter and when my oldest daughter finally flew from the family nest... I listened to this rendition by Frank Ocean and cried til my heart's content 😢 accompanying me with comfort, sorrow, mournful and very beautiful... all at the same time in the same breath... 🙏🏾... ✌🏾 There is a song by another genius by the name of Bobby Mcferrin. It is called Peace... which is on his very first album at the age of 29! This song was the last song played at my beloved Father's funeral 😢... People left calmly and silently whilst remaining very respectful as he was a community man who cared enough about people and their well-being. A song that has an old beautiful touch whilst remaining anew with its simplicity and clarity. Sung beautifully with depth, poise and calm being humble throughout its duration. That is my suggestion brother! Smiles... 🔑o 🙏🏾...✌🏾

Some of my favorites from that: - Acura Integurl - Miss You So - Rocket Love - JOB - Orion - No Bonnie I'd like to reiterate, the Lonny Breaux Collection was meant to be demos for other artist, as such it's much more traditional RnB. If nothing else, do check out Acura Integurl. There are some live performances that would be interesting to see you react to as well: Nikes - kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6KugWZofL6codU Good Guy - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJixm6Fol5Z9opI I Miss You - kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX6QmZSnbap5d8U Wiseman - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIi4ZXeXi5Wsi68 Summer Remains - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqKyhJSJgtifrcU Some of the live performances (Good Guy, I Miss You, and Wiseman) have crowd voices in them.
