Nice clean secure wire harness work. I like your Mustang work bench to spread out paperwork and small parts. Everybody should have a Mustang work bench!

The trunk lid of a 66 mustang is the perfect height. That's the only reason we've got that car... To use it as a workbench 😅

Looks great ! Kind of reminds me of every truck...tractor and house project I have ever had. Everyone did the bare minimum lazy thing so the next guy could do it right. Seems like I'm always that guy lol ! Glad I'm not alone !

I recently did a total rewire of the wire harness for trailer hookup and trailer brakes on my old F250. Feels good to have consistent electrical power!

Wiring on a vehicle is much more daunting than a tractor, so good job with that!

A very nice description of re-wiring these poor ole hunks of iron and you do good work! The addition of wiring diagrams is very helpful! I really liked how you broke down the 830 into the different circuits which makes it much easier to digest. I always think of it as one wire at a time haha. The only thing I do different is crimp AND solder my terminals. There's no kill like overkill haha

I still need to add in the oil pressure shut off, but I'll get it added on eventually.

Excellent work Jonelstar :) also I have done lots Wire Harness hook up over years lots stuff also I had do 2 farm tractor was terrific difficult to fix up was 1950 Noresman was row crop like your John Deere A but mice chew all wires ! I had to find a schematics (1950) Dodge Car plus Fargo pickup types to do on new wire up plus 6 volt postive to change a 12 volt Negative ground! Noresman was in barn for 48 years not used or cover up and seized motor! Plus had replaced motor, fully restoration all gauges to even key ignition switch plus seat also much was 6 months job! Then did Ferguson TEA 25 one and it was easy after found a Farm Equipment Dealership my dad used had all schematics plus full restoration even wire up to new wires plus gauge even key ignition switch worked even keys too plus how get 12 volt Negative ground to gave in schematics! Yes was fun too do plus few gauge need replaced ! Yes so fun was after Ferguson sat not working for 35 years in same barn Noresman was and so wild! Yes Noresman was made Brampton plus Hamilton Ontario Canada plant from 1945 to 1955 had Flat head 235 6 cylinder with 1 barrel carb Zenith down draft on right side and exhaust up hole in hood for round muffler and first tractor had Speedometer with ran on transmission front on cable seen plus miles 0 to 60 MPH top and dash of pick up or car to plus 4 forward gears and Reverse rear end was truck type 8 studs 1 ton 390 ratio drum brakes too! I heard Noresman was built only 45 hp with 65 torque too and first gear was Bow Low or some people called it Creeper Gear 1 !

I ended up with a 35 ton wood splitter And installed an emergency stop switch next to the hydraulic control valve. No use blowing a hose and trying to find the peanut switch on the motor. Good wiring job and Blessings, Yall

I've redone many old tractor wiring harnesses. The most critical thing to keep in mind is what you plan to do with the machine in the future. For me, I always upgrade the old generators to alternators and add extra lighting since the machines I work with still serve a practical purpose. Due to that, I increase the wire sizing and add tap point locations for the extra modern loads I may be adding to the system. Beyond that is updating the old fuse protection to modern push button circuit breakers.

I added an alternator to my old Ford truck, but with our tractors we've always kept the generator or just left it off. That's the benefit of a magneto... It'll run without a battery.

Another great video, we’re in NC, I am looking at a Model 70 with JD Loader, it hasn’t ran in 10 to 12 years, any guess as to the most I should give for it? Thanks, I watch all your videos

Tractors are money pits 😂. But seriously, price can be very subjective. A lot depends on condition... And I'm talking more than just a coat of paint. Does it run and drive well? Diesel or gas? If it's diesel, how does the pony run? Tires can be expensive. Some people are way low on price and others are way high. My opinion (and let me emphasize opinion) is if it doesn't run, but is complete and in good condition, $1500 or less is a decent deal. It it runs very well and has nice tires up to $4000 could be a good deal. But there are a lot of people out there who would say that's what too high. I'm the end, it's all up to you... Make an offer of what you think it's worth. The 70 is a great tractor, so you can't go wrong there.

Can you show the part number of those heavy duty loop ends that you used on the wire? There's a lot of stuff on that Digikey site! Also what type and brand of solder do you use? Thanks

Care must be used when soldering , to get the joint hot. Cool joints do not conduct electrictricty very well.
@jonelsonster2 күн бұрын
I've always figured if the solder melts and flows then it's good... But I've never really thought about how to verify temp.
