I run the borla pro xs on my 331ci coupe with full 3" exhaust/ xpipe and it sounds wicked. Highly recommend borla

I totally remember looking at MAC ads in the the back of a magazine, or from a brochure they had. I think my first mod to my 86 was a set of MAC equal length shorties, and an off-road H-pipe!

Borla ProXS with long tubes are the best setup hands down if you dont want anything obnoxiously loud.

I believe just the opposite. The advantage the Borla strait through design offers to the smaller cubic inch, lower HP engine is superior, as it needs every advantage to overcome the energy required just to work; whereas a larger engine making more power, could be less efficient and still produce more power. The Borla may not increase the power of the engine but it certainly reduces how hard it must work to make it...hince even more necessary for a smaller displacement power plant.

Hi, I see what you are saying...and yes, that definitely makes sense.. I think I was looking at muffler airflow requirements to support "x" amount of HP, and with the supercharged application, the Borla straight through design seemed to make more sense vs the chambered design. I was thinking that a lower HP, smaller displacement engine didn't require as much airflow to stay happy. I guess at the end of the day, they are both air pumps, and less restriction will help some out more than others. Thanks for your input...that definitely gave me something to think about!👍👍

Maybe you can quiet it down by adding dynomax race bullets wherever you can find space -- or glasspacks (all in addition). Sounds awesome -- so wet & juicy

Jones also sells a similar muffler to the borla under their max flow line.... A long with a ton of other brands rebranding the same China made mufflers that are a magnaflow copy... Holley has them under the flow monster name.

Thanks for this information! This makes me want to dig a bit deeper. I would love to see some of these mufflers side by side. I know that the Full Boar line is an excellent bang for the buck compared to most of the other mufflers of similar design. It would be nice to see which other name brand mufflers parallel a cheaper alternative or vice versa. Thanks for watching!👍

I was gulity of running slow flow masters then switched to the flow master FX . the FX is pretty much the same as the Borlas but cheaper and they sounded like glass packs 🙄. I'm currently running cherry bomb vortex . they soumd good at idle or at highway speeds but sound like glass packs on take off 🙄 so I'm narrowing it down to flow tech after burner mufflers or Pypes turbo pros for maximum flow . ive always wondered how flow masters would flow if it had the inlet and outlet would be in the same path as the inner openings

So far the Borlas don't have that typical glass pack rap, but I guess only time will tell. I'm quite happy with them so far. I've never really though about muffler cfm and Hp, as how many cfm to support "x" amount of Hp until recently. I really think my previous mufflers killed hp...just by design, I think they had to. I'm going to check out the mufflers you mentioned...its always good to have a few options. Thanks for your input! It gives me something to think about!👍👍

The Jones is a very cheap Flowmaster imposter 😅 I am also thinking of switching to Borla on my 67 Buick. I am running full dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40s with H pipe and cut outs. I am also thinking it would save a little weight.

My truck was gonna have one of these pro xs mufflers installed but I have installed a Borla XR1 Raceline race muffler because the pro xs I ordered was too small.

I always run Borla's and mandrel bent stainless exhaust. If a vehicle I buy has a chambered muffler, I remove it.

Hi Danny, I do like the Borla overall even though both mufflers do not sound drastically different. I feel the Jones Exhaust has more of that classic Flowmaster style sound at idle, and the Borla has a more refined V8 sports car tone to it. In between gears the Jones sound breaks up a bit and is a bit raspier, and the Borla is a bit smoother sound between gears. Plus I feel the Borla will likely have less back pressure due to the straight through design. I still think the Jones is a great bang for the buck, and would buy it again for a stock or mildly modified 302. For this car I wanted cfm and a bit more refined sound. I will likely do another video on the Borla in the future to see if the sound changes much once I get a few miles on the Borla. Thanks for watching!

Sounds way better with the Borla. I'm not a fan of the Full Boar mufflers. They sound too much like glass packs under load.
