I mean, quiet seriously impressive and an amazing shot. Many thanks. Got the message and the purpose of the board. But the path downwards, hard to get get this. I mean , is this the purpose of snowboarding? Turning on the spot, grinding down the stone hidden line? Mostly the same way I have destroied my Stratos board last season here in less snow country Switzerland. Applause.

It's a sweet board don't get me wrong and I definitely appreciate and understand the advantage of going lighter, but not sure I buy the statement that a 30% reduction in board weight = 30% more energy to climb. Sure grams add up but I don't think weight reduction has a direct inverse correlation to energy expenditure when we're talking about the difference between 6lbs board (Butterfly) and 7lbs board (Hovercraft). Maybe it's more of a big picture statement in regards to lightening your whole kit.

Indeed, since you are still moving your own bodyweight up every single vertical meter.

A couple of pounds shaved does not mean you can do another lap of 2,000 feet. It's all about fitness level. Sure light is good. Started backcountry in 1987 way way before most of these so called experts and had tons of light and heavy setups.

What’s the point of hiking it up if you can’t glide it down??

I love the butterfly shape, but too bad boards of ultralight series are for the most experienced riders, which I am not. Would it be even possible to make butterfly for tourers, softer with camrock, etc?

How can you talk about weight with such conviction but still be running soft boots and Karakoram’s?
