I don't think so. Jones let's people touch him. In fact, he often plays his opponent's game and beats them that way. You just can't do that with Francis.

Francis has underrated boxing, Jones struggles with boxing also I don't see Jones taking Francis down without getting clipped or overpowered by him

Plus he can't do that defense thing where he stretches his arms out against francis

Jones. The Predator is the hardest hitter to ever step into the Octagon but Jones is a special calibre of athlete, elite on all fronts; wrestling, ground work, striking, accuracy, timing, footwork, Octagon Generalship, conditioning and chin... Jones would be too much for N'Gannou, although if Jones switched off for a split second in that twenty-five minutes it would only take one of those monolithic shots from N'Gannou to put Jones into orbit, so it would be a dangerous fight for Jones! But I'd pick Jones regardless. I don't think we've seen an athlete as dominant as Jones across multiple era's of the UFC before, which for me is why he deserves the title of the G.O.A.T in the UFC, and he is just continuing to cement his legacy.

Ngannau paddled to Spain with his hands to get out of Africa and to fight word champs. My man can eat jones. Dont get me wrong tho. Jones has the skill to devour the entire heavy weight division but I think I’ll have to go with ngannau jus Bc listening to him on JRE you get a different view of him n goddamn is he jus a beast

@@ryangifford565 As I say, if Jones switches off for one second within that twenty-five minutes, N'gannou sends him to the shadow realm. The issue is, I don't think that Jones will, as Jones's fight IQ is unholy, he's such a well-rounded, technically gifted and intelligent Mixed-Martial artist! I think he will use his superior wrestling skills to exhaust and grind N'gannou down, and will use his oblique kicks to damage his knees, limiting movement and limiting his ability to generate torque in his punches by planting his feet and utilising heel-toe sway to follow through on his hooks etc... I actually wouldn't be surprised if Jones was to win this encounter through submission, possibly a Kimura, Guillotine or a RNC in RD 4/5. But there is no doubt that N'gannou could do it. I just don't think he will. The guy is a great ambassador for the sport though I do agree - his back story is incredible 🙏👌💯

@@bigschlong5697 Honestly, yes and no. N'Gannou has improved at a rate at which I've honestly never seen before in a UFC fighter, the difference between the first and second fight with Miocic was magnitudes. N'Gannou showed solid wrestling defence, the ability to transition, better boxing form, calmness under fire and a calculated approach to combat which I haven't seen in him before. I still believe cardio is a serious issue for him though - he was anaerobically breathing at the end of the first round. I still think he needs to 'get the job done quickly', as it takes a colossal amount of oxygen to power his sculpted 'Adonis' build. The power, as I noted before, is very much present in bucket loads. He is without a doubt the hardest hitting combat sports athlete in the UFC, possibly even the hardest hitting combat sports athlete currently active in the world. However, what I would like to note is that Jones is a very different challenge to Miocic. Jones has spent his time bulking up, he has risen up to Heavyweight in the correct way, taking his time to build up his strength, endurance and frame into that of a legitimate 240 Ibs athlete. Jon is longer than Miocic, and has a wider toolkit. Jon also has a wealth of experience fighting the best of what the UFC had to offer him over the past two decades, reigning as champion of the Light Heavyweight division for nine years. Apart from his DQ loss to Matt Hamill due to illegal elbows and a questionable decision win over Reyes, Jones is (depending on how you consider and define this concept) undefeated (not on paper, but should a DQ be counted as a win? Neither fighter wins in the case of a DQ in my eyes, Hamill himself said the same after the fight). Jones is a crafty fox, his Octagon IQ is underrated, his ability to adapt and overcome is what has allowed him to thrive over the decades he has spent in the UFC. Jones brings a different approach to the fight - where Miocic was centred around head movement, moving in a circular motion away from N'Gannou's power hand (which is ironic, considering that is in fact both of his hands!), boxing, counter-punching and trap setting and wrestling - Jones has legit BJJ skills (Black Belt in Gaidojutsu, Purple Belt in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu) to bring to the fray, oblique kicks, lead leg side kicks, spinning elbows, knife-like diagonal elbows, he will check N'Gannou's leg kicks, front kicks to the body, turning kicks to the legs, body & head, brutal head and body knees in the clinch, he has outstanding takedown defence (defensive wrestling) Etc... Both Stipe and Jones have incredible durability, hordes of experience, a champion's mentality, command of range, great movement and slick boxing (which is the area in which Stipe outperforms Jones IMO, Stipe has quick, powerful and accurate hands), but Jones has a wider toolkit - hence why I believe Jones will be a different challenge to Stipe for N'Gannou. As N'Gannou weighs 265 Ibs, he puts an extraordinary amount of weight on his lead leg when he loads up on his punches. Watch for Jones to lean out of N'Gannou's shots, crunching those heavily strained knees of N'Gannou with lead leg side kicks and oblique kicks looking to tear N'Gannou's ligaments to establish range, stop him from planting his feet and loading up, slow his movement and ultimately if he is able to drop N'Gannou if the damage is excessive enough and his lead leg gives out as a result. Where Stipe circled, using head movement, a tight guard, a stiff jab & the threat of a takedown to keep N'Gannou at bay - Jones will take a 'longer' approach, leaning out of his spearing lead leg side kicks and oblique kicks to the knees to keep 'The Predator' at bay. The second factor is that I don't expect Jones will attempt to offensively wrestle N'Gannou. Jones typically has been a defensive wrestler in the past, should N'Gannou shoot I believe Jones will engage, but unless N'Gannou goes on the offensive I don't believe Jones will attempt to take it to the mat. I think Jones will achieve this by frustrating N'Gannou which the devastating damage that Jones is able to inflict on the knees and legs of his opponent (R.E. Santos - torn MCL, LCL, PCL in one knee, torn meniscus in the other and a fractured tibia post fight). If N'Gannou does get frustrated and shoot, the first issue is the knees of Jon Jones, tried and tested tools capable of knocking out opponents. Secondly, his defensive wrestling is up there with the best in the UFC. We haven't seen N'Gannou on the ground yet, to his credit due to him stuffing the takedown, transitioning to back position and hammering Miocic when he shot for the takedown. But as I mentioned above, Jones has legit BJJ skills. He has wins via Guillotine Choke, Keylock etc... Should N'Gannou engage Jones on his back, or should Jones take side mount/top mount or N'Gannou's back, it'll be interesting to see how N'Gannou deals with the pressure of a legitimate BJJ practitioner on the ground. As I say, I don't think Jones will engage N'Gannou in this manner, but should N'Gannou engage Jones, despite his sledgehammer of a left and right hand in terms of GNP, that would be a dangerous position for N'Gannou as I don't know where his skills are at within this domain of combat sports - it'll be interesting to see as his improvement is astounding and so we may get to see N'Gannou utilise some BJJ against Jones, he may surprise me! But I believe based on what I know now, Jones outworks N'Gannou on the ground. And in the clinch, up against the cage, Jones is lethal. Brutal elbows which cut like knives, spinning elbows that hit with concussive force, oblique kicks in the clinch, savage knees and the threat of a guillotine is ever present. Apologies for the long reply, but I wanted to answer your question honestly. In short, yes my opinion has changed. N'Gannou is clearly improving at a rapid rate, filling in the gaps with regards to his combat toolkit. I still think at his current weight cardio is a serious issue for him, and should Jones keep him at bay, damage his knees, take him into the later rounds of the bout - that could prove to be an issue for N'Gannou as technique begins to fade as exhaustion sets in. However, N'Gannou is a more all-rounded fighter now than I've ever seen him in the past - that performance against Miocic was spectacular. My honest take home would be that should it end within rounds one or two, N'Gannou takes it. He has the touch of death in both hands, should he close the distance and clip Jones, it'll be curtains. He will fold Jones like a deck chair. But should Jones pull some veteran moves, produce a Prime Jones performance, fight in an intelligent manner utilising the assets I've mentioned above - I think Jones is a more complex challenge for N'Gannou than Miocic was in their rematch; so from rounds three to the end of round five I'd have to opt for a Jones win by submission or decision. But yes, my opinion has changed. This fight just got a whole lot more intriguing, I really hope it comes to be. What a legacy cementing event it'll be for the victor!
