As a gadget and gear junkie, you've just cost me a pretty penny. Great items with great presentations. Well done, and thanks Jon!

It did not cost me much, I already have most of the CountyComm items he exhibited. LOL.

@JonGadget8 ай бұрын
good to know - thank you
@ToolTechGeek8 ай бұрын
I second that. When you see a product advertised it’s hard to get a feel of the weight. If it’s specified sometimes they use the weight with packaging, which for smaller gadgets can be significantly different than the product itself.

30 items in 20 minutes! I like that you honour small items very much in fact i was just searching for a good way to add a needle and thread in my edc so your presentation just came at the right time 🙂 But still, rushing through 30 items in 20 minutes contradicts somehow the valuing of little details of small gear. You could easily spend 10 minutes on each of those items talking about material, where it was made (and under what circumstances if that information is available) how to include it in your edc, compare it to other options, talk about function, look, feel, smell or even acoustics. Long story short: you leave me here with a lot to discover in the new to me manufactures and resellers. Thanks for bringing together this collection.
@JonGadget8 ай бұрын
No worries , it's always a balance when it comes to detail. This one is more about product discovery 👍
@thepunisher96988 ай бұрын
Dude, you dont need 10min on every item, that's definitely an exaggeration, and alot of ppl like many items in a reasonably lengthed video, focusing only on the main points of the items. The little details are for separate vids usually

That is a very nice LARGE collection of mostly very small, carry-able/portable, high-quality, useful, and interesting EDC items. Probably nobody needs it all, but also probably everybody could get good use from much of it at times. I'm old now though, so I get sticker-shock at the prices of almost everything. Your videos are the BEST on this topic, and I'm amazed at your resourcefulness, objectivity, and helpful content. There should be some kind of prize awarded for it.

Some good kit there Jon, thank you. I find the transport costs for stuff from America can seriously affect the price of some of the gear out there, so I wonder if a similar UK exercise might be of interest? Mind you, given the state of our economy, I wonder if it would be perhaps a pointless exercise. Still, a great vlog. Cheers. 👋

I'm gonna be real...most of the survival/tactical stuff that gets made for EDC comes with clips for attaching to your pockets, I'm not sure what use the CF Amigo clip would get. Probably better served on a bag or something, Iunno
@swav52805 ай бұрын
Amigo clip gets a thumbs up. I have one of the other metal ones which hangs my flashlight, but the little flare on the end kept catching on things, like taking my jacket off and (luckily) seeing my RovyVon flying away... The Amigo keeps my light a little deeper in the pocket and the exterior clip doesn't catch on things. I appreciate the longer outside clip, too, that's easier to grab when I need it. Great job on these videos Mr. Gadget!

That Dyneema dispenser needs to be paired with a sewing kit. Dyneema is really weak when knotted (It doesn't handle shear forces very well) so if you want it to support any significant tension it should be looped and stitched instead, that's how its used on kites and paragliders at least...
