Named the 3rd greatest album of all time by Rolling Stone, 1971's 'Blue' by Joni Mitchell is undoubtedly a classic album full of incredible songs and performances. To honour the album's 50th anniversary, Meg takes a closer look at some of the instruments and playing techniques that Joni used on the album.
Throughout the video she includes demo's of the Martin D18 dreadnought and the Seagull M4 diatonic Dulcimer, as well as finding out the reason why Joni chose to use to many alternate tunings. All of the alternate tunings that Joni used on the album are covered, including how to tune a guitar to open tunings, and finally, Meg looks at the history of the album including the involvement of other musicians such as Stephen Stills and James Taylor and producer, Henry Lewy.
