Same GS as you, I just sometimes ride the horse from one town to another. I also check out small villages and try to recreate it in other games like Ostriv or Manor Lords (Bern is a good example). I also love catchup mechanics as it puts less pressure to achieve things in the present when it's going to be easier in the future.

One of the biggest pieces of advice that I don't see suggested, make the most of 'returning adventurer' awards, like the value pack and a few billion worth of items over three weeks. I personally plan on breaks of a month two from BDO which maintains a healthier relationship with the game and makes it super fresh. With the rewards you get for returning you haven't lost all that much. I think they've just made it after only 30 days of being away from the game, so much easier to plan for than the 60 days previously. It's so much fun to come back to the game multiple times a year with this method. BDO is the only MMO I play regularly, ESO feels more paid to win, despite the more interesting quests, and I've been playing BDO like this for years now.

Thank you for the reminder, that minmax is not fun for everyone all the time. I've rerolled regions almost a year ago now and have been going at lifeskills and pve progression. Both of them at a relaxed pace, swapping to whatever I felt like. BDO is perfect for progression in the background if you don't feel like playing actively - fishing and training have been bumping my silver for a noticeable amount.

It can also be looked at same way in life then, why live if no war is there for us to fight for.

Bdo was never meant to have raids/group dungeons. You can try New World if you crave those stuff
