I love that you recognize what Jimi was up to because he did play rhythm guitar as well as lead. The influences fused into his own thing. I'm going to watch the video now! I stopped to comment about his amazing ability to play rhythm and lead at the same time. He changed music forever because of the influence he has had on music. I was still a kid when his music started coming out. It was on the radio and I do believe that Freedom was the first song I heard on the radio. I love sharing that one on the 4th. Are You Experienced has always been my favorite but I love everything Hendrix and was thinking about trying this song now that the bridge on my Gibson has been fixed. I'm in the mood and although we have pretty much everything on DVD CD and original vinyl, I wanted to learn this. I will thank you after the lesson and even if I suck at it, I will still be grateful that you have done this. It was 54 years since he passed a few days ago and I have been thinking about him a lot. I got a song request played on the radio last night for Crosstown Traffic and I will be sharing some more songs. The Outake CD from Monterrey Pop has got a be my favorite. Thank you, man. - Angie Early

I had the privilege of shaking Jimi Hendrix’s hand after his concert in Tuscaloosa, AL. I have long fingers, but mine are stubs compared to his. I’ve always believed the size of those hands was part of why he was able to do so many things that other ordinary folks could not.

There’s little Asian kids who can play amazingly well. If you’re just starting don’t let hand size get in the way

Thanks. That’s one of the clearest and best explanations of Wind Cries Mary I’ve seen.

Jon it's a pleasure watching your video. You teach with a relaxed confidence and your pacing is on point. Also it's encouraging to see someone with "not-so-large" hands play as fluently as you do. (that was meant as a compliment).

Great stuff. Still takes a while to get the thumb to stretch over the top and not be muting the other strings and doing it proper. Takes a long time for me to get it down, but I will practice every day. Thank you sir.

See, the thing that you don't understand, jimi didn't think abiut the songs like this. His soul just felt that was what the guitar wanted to sound like. You're trying to dissect pure raw emotion, and that's just wrong.
