Nicely done... I play a slight variation on it along with John Mayer on a tribute album to JJ. But like you, Finger Style is definitely the best way to go. Wonderful tune, so laid back and nice to play. JJ is a real under estimated artist by the commercial customer but cherished by many seriously wonderful talented musicians not the least of which is Eric Clapton, John Mayer, the late Tom Petty and even Willie Nelson is a big fan. Thanks for covering this tune, I am now a subscriber my friend...... be well

It’s impossible to play J.J. Cale as he played it. You have to dial back everything further than you think you need to, then dial it back more and you’ll still be playing too loud and too forcefully.
