THE FROZEN CALL - Ancient Nordic Chant

Jonna Jinton

4 жыл бұрын

This is a song I created with inspiration from the call "Into the unknown" in Frozen 2 , with ancient herding-call "kulning" and the old viking instrument "Bukkehorn" which I now played for the very first time in a song (Still practicing :))
I filmed it all among the mountains of Marsfjällen, a place where a part of my heart always will be, and a place where I constantly feel drawn to the call of the wild mountains and the dancing rivers.
Sit back, relax, and let the call wake up your inner fire, your power and your soul.
I hope you will enjoy my piece of music! Let me know what you think of it!
THANK YOU FOR WATCHING ♥

A concept: a young girl forever singing for the return of her fallen warrior lover. She’s singing to appease Freya in hopes it’ll convince Odin to release him from Valhalla. A nordic Orpheus and Eurydice story.

Yeah I'd say a lot of things Disney draw inspiration from do or did exist in this world, we're just usually so confined tue to lack of money, time and birth places that we hardly know our own spaces (countries) but if you once upon a time take a trip to lands where stories were collected you can get usually get an idea why they've written bout this there and that here.

Pechenka Chocoladnaya I agree, I live in England and we don’t get snow like we used to. Let’s band together, all our countries, and plant trees. Scientists have said that if we plant 1 trillion trees by 2030, then we would have reversed the damage we’ve done. ✨ I hope Putin has plans for peace and nature, though I’ve not heard about his perspective on climate change. In England, people voted in a Government who want to wait till 2050 to do enough, that’s 20 years late 😒 We have such a small voice, people like us, but it echoes, acknowledged by some, but not by others; and sometimes it takes a while to be heard. Best wishes ❤️

@@forevercomputing It's a bigger crime to take part in such a toxic society that's ruining our planet and stripping people away of their humanity. Some people choose to voluntarily isolate themselves because of this and because living on your own in the middle of nowhere is really hard and not something everyone can do. So, most of us are sentenced to a life that's slowly killing us all, deceived by the fake beauty of our concrete jungles... Hiding yourself by choice inside four walls is the best some can do. Others, the brave ones as Joanna, choose to hide themselves in the vastness of nature, but not everyone can do that and certainly not on their own.

@@forevercomputing Humans have a special and deep spiritual connection with Nature. It's impossible not to enjoy it. Problem is that we don't live our everyday life surrounded by nature: either we pretend to be enjoying life surrounded by skyscrapers or we actually enjoy it surrounding ourselves with Nature. My point is the one that chooses to hide themselves between four walls is the one who wants to reconnect with Nature, but can't.

If everyone was like her, the world would be a better place. Edit: okay so bc I apparently was not clear enough and sparked a debate in the replies, this is what I meant: if people were engaged in the history of their culture and actually continued with some of those chants, if they were spiritual and/or respectful and appreciative of nature and how beautiful it is. if people did not care as much about material wealth and rather just found a place they were happy, even if that lifestyle isn’t for everyone. everyone would still be different and unique, literally all i was trying to say is that i wish people were more attuned to nature and their cultures history. to be clear: the og comment was not about race in any way, to the people in the comments who are suggesting that the world would be better if everyone was white: what is wrong with you?

This same/similar horn was used in ancient Israel as a call of warning so your feelings are only normal. It was also used to call out to G-d Himself, to remember His people, and not forget His promises to them. We still blow this horn on certain ancient festival days. It’s a beautiful yet haunting sound :)

@@sergeizakaev5704 yeah, but in the Bible god says that humanity is the crown of his creation and supposed to subdue the earth. That is simply not right. Our ancestors understood that we are only a part of nature and not above it and hence lived in harmony with it and not against it like we do today, trying to reign it as if we were anything smarter or better. Look where it ended up, we are destroying our own habitat.

The Bible says man was made after God’s own image, and he gave man Dominion over the earth and what’s in it, dominion doesn’t mean we just do whatever we want with nature, but have the responsibility to take care of it. We as humans have that responsibility, many of us don’t do anything along those lines, while others go overboard, we conserve nature so it’s a well balanced system. On one hand dominion means we are the dominant species, on the other it means we are to be responsible with the power we have over nature. We wouldn’t have and we definitely wouldn’t act on that responsibility if we were just another part of nature.

If anyone would like to know why Elsa's call is in this video: The call originates from a Gregorian chant from the 11th century called the Dies Irae. The original tune is actually really creepy sounding. I suggest you find the chant and listen to it for yourself. Many songs and movies use the call, either for a creepy scene in a movie to a nice beat (?) in a song. If you'd like to see it used in a song other than "Into The Unknown," Usher uses it in his song "More." John Fassold (I believe that's right) has made a video of them side by side as well!

Wait for a tree to die naturally before we used the wood build our shelter.
