Thank you for a lovely clear tutorial. I tried another tutorial for this hat and couldn't do it. Yours showed me what I was doing wrong and I created a cute hat for a friend with cancer who lost his hair.
@susangiering54988 жыл бұрын
I had never picked up a crochet needle before two days ago. I had bought this kind of hat from a friend four years ago, but it came up missing this winter. I decided I would make it since my friend is no longer available. I went to the store to buy the needle and yarn, then - searched KZbin attempting to begin using other videos. It got nowhere until I found this tutorial. As you mentioned each stitch - I found the instructions via another video and practiced until I had learned all required stitches. At that point, I sat down with you and began. I have a beautiful hat on the FIRST attempt thanks to your clear instructions. I am finishing my second go at it and have worked out some of the minor mistakes I made on my first attempt. Much thanks to you for sharing your skill. You are definitely a creative talent, but more importantly a skilled teacher.

I love this hat! I crochet tight and didn't want to go up a hook size so I started with 16 dc instead of 15. This gave me 80 st for the body instead of 75 st. Then I dec to 76 st for the brim. It turned out beautiful and is a perfect fit for my 22 inch head. Thank you for this tutorial!

I avoided anything with FPDC and/or BPDC, but after watching this video I was able to complete a simple beanie with a FPDC/BPDC brim. Sweet success!!!l ***UPDATE-- I just finished this hat using Lion Brand Landscapes in Dessert Dune. This was hat is so easy to make thanks to your easy to follow instructions! I am 10 stitches short on my last row of the brim, but I will put that part on the back of my head against my neck and no one will know!

You did a great job on this tutorial. Very easy to follow as I completed my hat this evening. It was so easy and it worked up quickly! I loved how the whole hat shapes properly when completed. I used Loops & Threads soft and shiny in cream, worked with a lace-weight mohair in a grayish-purple color. Looks like a tweed. At first I was thinking I'd add a pompon, but decided against that now that it's completed. Thanks again for an easy-to-follow pattern.

Jonna Martinez I'm loving this hat would love to make it but I have a lot of hair very thick is it possible to make the hat bigger/ taller? Do I just do more rounds of the shells?
@JessicaR19907 жыл бұрын
what i do on the beanie hat tutorial instead of doing 4 increse rows, i for 5 increasing rows. and then placing 1 dbc in each stitch on the original tutorial that mrs Jonna Martinez provide the one with the add on flower . so if u want to make the hat bit bigger/loose and taller id highly recommand to do that and also you would have to keep adding 1 dbc in each stitch around until you get to the desired length that you like . :) i hope this was helpful
