I guess, it have to do with RPGs being more calm than most other games aside from strategy and timing... what I mean is that other games have other elements that keep the player hooked, a RPG needs the awesome banging music to keep the player thrilled throught the story and countless battles, that being said. An RPG with well not good enought battle ost will be a pain to complete, digimon world DS being an example often times I mute the game due to its ost.

Both versions are good for different reasons. Personally I like Jonny's more, but The Black Mages' definitely came close. The use of keyboard in the main solo in TBM's version is genius.

Back in middle school we were learning about Mesopotamia and the Epic of Gilgamesh. We had a project where the teacher would play a song of our choice while we presented. Around 2006-07, Clash on the Big Bridge was the song that got me into metal covers of video-game songs (and metal songs, period) in the first place! I got addicted to Touhou remixes in 2010 (at this moment, I single-handedly account for somewhere between 135 and 142 of the views on your Nuclear Fusion cover; yes, I've been keeping count). In late 2014 or early 2015, when I came across your 2013 Dark Star Core cover, I knew I'd struck gold! And now after 4 years of waiting, it's finally come full circle! While the first remix I ever heard of Clash on the Big Bridge will always have a special place in my heart (B.B. Evolution by AKHT, which I literally listened to hundreds of times before bothering to look up any other songs), this cover was an excellent callback to the early days of my video-game metal obsession! No less excellent than I've come to expect from you! PS: I revived my old KZbin account that I haven't gotten any notifications from for over 4 years, and haven't even signed into for maybe 7 years, JUST so I could comment on this video! This is THAT BIG OF A DEAL!

Day 232 of Kartikeya going on the Big Bridge to have some drinks with his friend Gilgamesh. Man alive my first time playing FFV was so long ago. And honestly out of the originals, this imo was the hardest of the bunch. I almost gave up on my first time through... that is until I came to the Big Bridge, where this theme started to play, and this song THIS SONG gave me the motivation to keep pushing no matter what it took! Comically enough I did get stuck later on, and forgot what I was doing and had to start all over again, but that first time THIS SONG was what pushed me. Comically on my 2nd playthrough I got all the way to Twintania and got stuck and then started over. Which was funny considering how close the final boss was at that point.
