Can't quite remember off the top of my head. It was either Marvel wanting the themes to be more MCU esque to match the movies, or because they thought the old themes didn't fit who the characters were and wanted new ones (which is BS IMO, the majority of the COTA to MVC3 themes fit pretty damn well). It was never officially stated by them, I think that info came from a leaker or someone who worked on the game.
