Sephiroth made it into Smash! That was definitely an unexpected surprise for old school FF fans like myself. It felt necessary to celebrate his Smash inclusion with a Sephiroth remix, and I wanted to do a song that ALWAYS gets overlooked in favor of others like One Winged Angel and J-E-N-O-V-A: the Bizzaro Sephiroth fight theme Birth of a God.
Also we didn't do any full Final Fantasy remixes last year! Crazy right?
Certainly there weren't any other franchises we forgot about...

First off, this is apparently the first video that complete does away with the borders on the top and bottom of the thumbnail. Cool start to a new year. Second, I don't see that many remixes or covers for this particular song, especially compared to One-Winded Angel or even J-E-N-O-V-A, which is a shame because it's a pretty awesome song! Shame it wasn't in Smash Bros.

It's not the birth of a god in Rebirth. it's a Jenova remnant being a shape shifter that she is and a manipulator. Fooling people into thinking it's something else... Music is always key, the fact there was no music there is why there should be no music there and why it shouldn't have been in Rebirth.

Listening to this song, I always thought it made the climactic fight against sephiroth whole and feel amazing. And then I beat it. This song is the confident first assault against sephiroth, and after is when terror and despair sets in, as you just try and survive long enough to kill him.
