Loved the heavy dose of Mason in the run game to give CMC a break this week. 18:18 - not only is Purdy making high level plays look routine, he's also casually one handing bad snaps, then making the high level play.

This was a masterful performance by Glock13. He looks VERY comfortable in Kyle's offense, and definitely should be in consideration for the MVP award. BTW, Jordan Mason looks like another Marshawn Lynch when he runs the football. A lot of authority when tacklers try to bring him down. Can't wait for the video spotlighting the defense. Gonna watch this game in full once more, because of how special the victory was for the franchise. Cheers.

I really like that block by McKivitz on CMC's short TD run. DeMarcus knows its a run inside, and he gets leverage, but Colton just drives him all the way across the face of the play and into the ground. Heckuva game from the right side of the line, both of whom are very good run blockers, but today were able to handle a lot of Micah and Lawrence on the pass too.

The interesting thing about the run game was, Dallas actually did a really good job preventing any big plays there. We didn't have a single run (by a RB) longer than 8 yards until Mason got that long TD at the end. Nonetheless, we were still getting solid production running the ball, preventing Dallas from shutting the run down despite all the attention they were giving it, and all that attention they put on the run helped create the windows Purdy exploited. Plus the physical beating the runs kept delivering. Man Purdy and this offense are fun to watch! Can't wait for the defense video tomorrow - time for All-Pro Fred to get his spotlight. :)

Now im really looking forwad to the defensive breakdown. Idk what it is, definitely a mix of a lot of things, but from this game it feels like the niners on both sides of the ball of unleashed the potential thats been locked up for years all at once. With this, now comes the hope they keep the steam rolling through each opponent all the way to the big bowl. I keed to see my first 49ers lumbardi since my birth (96, i aint too young 🤣) and this is the roster, the team, and the drive to do it! Great analysis. Watching the tape over and over you truly get a much better perspective on how the throwing game is working. The way he is throwing guys open reminds me of Coryell/Zampesi offenses under Fouts/Warner. Brock doesn't have the same arm strength they had but he's always in throwing position. No shuffling of feet needed like most QBs. Cleveland should be a good test as Schwartz's creative blitzes and man to man coverage are more sophisticated than what the Giants did. Imagine Shanahan/Purdy are watching a ton of tape (even 5 year old Philly defense). If they can't run the ball, look for lots of hits on Brock and maybe an interception.

One thing that was very surprising to me was the number of times that Micah Parsons lined up over Trent Williams, was that a choice of his? was that Dan Quinn's "genius" doing? did he try to live up to the "I'm as good as Lawrence Taylor" hype? Either way I was pleasantly surprised with how well McKivitz did when Parsons did move over him, granted he didn't work him like TW did but he held his own long enough for Purdy to work his magic.

I had a hard time finding Micah, where does he show up in the video? .......Joking aside, I think they're moving him around because they're searching for weaknesses since it's the 49ers game plan to shift protection to his location. They even had a chip block from Kittle when he was on Trent on one the plays.

At some point, if you're going to be an elite player (which I think we have to acknowledge Parsons is, normally), you have to be willing to take on the other team's elite player and try to win that matchup. In this case, Trent and co. did a great job of shutting him down (which we all gleefully enjoyed 😁), but how many times has Parsons beaten other teams' best tackles to mess up their game plans?

@13:50 to 14:55 is Dead-on, Brock's ability 2 process the "Tampa 28" and hit the pass precisely timed is sooo impressive for a 2nd year QB. Usually it's guys out of position on hitch routes or some such that 2nd year guys R hitting. I mean that Tampa 28 coverage looked like a mess when it was live, and only looked slightly easier on ur replay. That's WOW level stuff. Nice analysis. Quinn was clearly throwing the entire book at Purdy and he handled it with an A+. Imagine Quinn's frustration.

I love the throws with anticipation to a spot where the receivers are not even out of their cuts. This is what separates Purdy from the others. Many throws are like that and as a defense it makes it impossible to stop. Hes not just throwing to a wide open receiver, he knows exactly where/when he will be open and times his throws perfectly to match. This is something that can only be learned through experience.

@11:50: That throw by Puirdy, with a man in his face coming from his left, and his getting the ball just inches over VenDerEsche and into Aiyuk's arms, in stride, was TOTALLY next level. Great and PRECISE route by Aiyuk too. Shows Purdy's growth. That IS a throw we've seen similar to Jimmy G. BUT, as we saw by his performance last night vs the Packers, (Jimmy G. getting INTERCEPTED), Brock MAKING those throws, and NO turnovers. BTW, Johnny Del, would LOVE 2 C U do a breakdown of Jimmy's interception, it looked like he had Davante CLEARLY open BEHIND the double coverage, Admas beat his guy by a step or two, which Jimmy threw that "far-to-Easy" pick to Green Bay. Really looked like a horrible read from a veteran QB.

Bravo JDFA! Another top shelf breakdown. I really love these. I don't think any other fan base has this for their favorite team. Giants play zero and bring nearly the whole house, Cardinals play with a 3 man rush or four man rush, same with Dallas, or you face all world TJ, or all world Aaron Donald. None of these strategies or all world talent can stop the Niners. How do you beat the Niners? Also I love the subtle left had setup Brock occasionally shows coming out of PA. Maybe it messes with the DB's eyes? I almost thought that TD to Juice was the same play as Brock's first TD pass last season against the Dolphins but it was different.

I know I'm all aboard the (justified) hype train right now, but watching Brock play with this level of ease as he runs Kyle's offense exactly how it's supposed to be run, while dotting up ALL of his all-pro skill players in stride all over the field with pinpoint accuracy, as 300 lb d-lineman barrel down on & truck him as he throws insane TDs makes me feel like I'm watching StephGawd in unconscious mode. I am fully aware & cognizant of the extraordinary levels of glazing I'm currently engaging in, and I also know it may sound like some ASTOUNDING shit to say, but I gotta be real. Thank you for the breakdown this week and for including that awesome pass to Aiyuk that is now sadly excluded from the highlights due the holding call. I was hoping you'd include the short pass to CMC with the helmet-to-helmet penalty to see if Purdy had other options available and if he could've avoided what looked to be a dangerous play. Hope you don't mind me asking but have you noticed any other dangerous plays aside from that roughness penalty to CMC this game? Not sure what Purdy’s average release time is but it’s fast. Has to frustrate the hell out of defenses. But kudos to the O line for digging in and buying Purdy time. Their best performance so far. Long felt that Jimmy G’s issue was holding onto the ball too long. Lance, same thing. Contributed to their injuries. Now if we can keep everyone healthy it will be a sweet season.

Something Steph had pointed out and somewhere it was mentioned that Brock seems to have taken him getting injured upon himself. That had he not hesitated he could have gotten the ball to Aiyuk and that's been his catalyst for throwing with more anticipation. I suppose if you are laid up for months and can't throw a ball might as well get into the film. It might sound crazy but that injury might actually be a blessing in disguise.

Hey Jonny, why do we get in some many compressed sets with such tight splits? Doesn’t this make it harder to see what coverage the defense is in and brings more people to the play?

It's about setting up the run game. We run so many toss cracks that the defense always has to be on alert for those and that will usually causes wider alignment from the 2nd level

2:02 I'm sorry, but I just cannot stop laughing at the coverage call on that first play every time I watch it. Because of where they are on the field, the emblem corresponds almost perfectly to the Niners' favorite area to target with passes - up to ~15 yards down the middle. There's literally a *giant red circle* screaming "prime Niners' passing real estate right here"...and the Cowboys defenders all bail out of there like it's made of lava. What on earth they were thinking calling cover-4 there, with no one assigned to drive on something over the middle in front of them, I have no idea. I mean, even watching it live. As soon as I saw Kearse shifting way out wide with Juice, I immediately thought, "Um...where are you going? The whole middle is wide open, all Aiyuk has to do is - ya, that."🤣

I have watched your and other breakdowns of last year’s playoff game - it was a total slog, with Dan Quinn’s defense ready for much of why Kyle tried to do and Brock mainly in damage control mode. Just a short while later, Kyle seems to have figured out Wuinn’s defense and Brock looks utterly unfazed by this vaunted defense. It;s such a stark contrast, the offense looked like it barely felt Dallas. I think it was JTO who pointed this out- Brock bizarrely drops back in a left handed stance seemingly often and then is asked to flip and throw right. Is there a way to track this?it seems insanely hard but Brock just…does it nonchalantly.

The Browns are next. They already got their bye week, they watched the game against Dallas where the 49ers put the Cowgirls through the toughest L in history. If I'm the Browns I'm watching the tape. And putting my best defensive player everywhere on the field. If I'm the Niners. I'm watching the tape on the Browns and getting to Cleveland's head before the game maybe this what Kyle does.

Moving the ball and scoring pints is like pulling teeth in Alex/Jimmy led offenses. Brock actually processes and uses the whole field
