Jonsered 2071 (Woods Ported)

Here is a nice little Johnny Red that I rebuilt with entirely new parts minus the crankcase and crankshaft. I hope this little buddy finds a good home it is a really nice saw.

Not to sound like an ignorant youtube visitor,but my 670 jonny would out cut that.....sounds good but i think you need a proper sharpening maybe a couple 100 more RPM too.

Probably needs some sharpening like you said, but for a saw that came out in 1997 it is worth its money. Its equivalent to husqvarna 371. With its weight in 5.5-6kg and 3.9kW output, its a really good saw

Yeah they're decent saws,I've ran them and many many many other saws during my 9-10 yrs cutting for power companies in 4 states and IDK how long logging in 2. They're not quite as good as you think,I will match my old stock 670 Champ that I bought new in '92 with that supposedly ported saw or any stock 2071/72,2171/72. I'll put it up against any stock 044,440,441,046,460,461 also......already out cut everyone of them that I have come across through the years that wanted to try and race. Even out cut my brothers ol 288....no one wanted to try it against my ol 2077 that I bought new in '93 once the lil one showed them where the bear ...... in the woods...lol They all were equal when raced in terms of bar length (24),square chisel,and log dia. at cuts 18-22" and all through either red or white oak. The few vids I have of it looks like his saw,dull an on it's last sharpening....but they were all also on the factory ring that had around 20,000 hrs on it. It finally got a B-day gift back around 2014,a new ring,it was the 1st and only time the cyl ever been off it. The 2077's cyl is still today (30 yrs later and 22,000+hr guesstimate) torqued from factory when I bought it. I work on and tune my own saws,just listening to that saw it needs turned up a lil yet (when vid was taken). It's bad for a saw if it's to lean.....and also if it's to rich.
