How to set up an Arma 3 server using Hamachi

This actually really helped my friends and I train using aircraft and playing escape missions. They never lagged or disconnected randomly and it worked flawlessly for the 4 and a half hours we were playing. You can only have 5 people connected to Hamachi before you need to pay to use their service which might be a problem for larger groups. If you or your friend cant find the others server make sure that Hamachi is turned on and restart Arma if it was open before you started and if that doesn't work try restarting your PC. Really recommend if you want to play privately with a friend. Great video too, thanks.

So yeah my server does not show up for my friend even though we are both in my hamachi. There is no option to remote connect either. Was this replaced with the Direct Connect option? We have spent hours trying to just play a dang mission and cant get on a server together....

Are you sure that the lobby in hamachi is online? also you firewall might be blocking anyone from joining, try disabling it

ENLITEN you need to make your server internet cuz only ppl that r on your wifi can join and you need to make sure yhat you use the other ip adress prob

hamachi is a "fake lan network" it simulates a lan network but it is online, so there should be no problem opening his arma server on lan

+Nolan Spencer Your firewall might be blocking hamachi, try turning it off or letting it through as a program, that's what I have to do

@@just_a_firefly3354 Actually its working,after me and my friend created an id network in hamachi we did right click on each network hit DIAGNOSE and there showed up the problem, was the firewall:D. After we identified the problem we went to windows firewall (he has windows 10 and me 11) and setup rule for inbound/outbound for hamachi and allow connections for the program for inbounds/outbound and even this didnt resolve the problem,the final solution with the firewall issue was this: in WINDOWS DEFENDER FIREWALL WITH ADVANCED SECURITY look in the middle over there the WINDOWS DEFENDER FIREWALL PROPERTIES then go on PUBLIC PROFILE and there you should see PROTECTED NETWORK CONNECTIONS and in the right of that press CUSTOMIZE and then in the windows uncheck HAMACHI so then press ok/apply ,restart the computer and now you will be able to play co op with your friend (and indeed in DIRECT CONNECTION in the game you create the lan server). Have fun:)

That would probably be a firewall issue on one of your ends, make sure hamachi has the proper permissions. I would google how to do that so you can decide what you are comfortable with letting the program have

+Nikkibruuuh TheBeast it technically is internet, it is just easier to find on lan. if you were to use lan, your friend would have to press remote connect and then put your ipv4 address in the address bar

+Nikkibruuuh TheBeast Oh ok, in order to have a complete public server you would need to find a server hosting program/website, which usually isn't free. You used to just be able to click new and start one, but gamespy shut down so you can no longer do that. I will do some research and see if I can find a hosting that is free. Thanks for the comment!
